That's **** from Watling.

He's closing his gloves on the ball too early. I noticed that earlier when the quicks were bowling.

I don't think that was completely deliberate, particularly given he has that ball that just drifts in and doesn't turn at all which can be easily mistaken for a googly.
Yeah there is that, but he also definitely overdid the genuine googly. You could see it from the release.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if he just didn't have much control over his release and did it accidentally sometimes though.
Absolutely. It's common knowledge that bowling too many googlies can ruin your legbreak, so I'm guessing the improved consistency with his legbreak is largely a result of relying on it less.

Oh Watling :/

Been reasonably impressed with our spinners so far. Still not sure where a wicket is going to come from though, until we hopefully get some reverse later.

Happy with our XI though.

you can't get out on this pitch*

*unless you're a kiwi batsman in two days being owned by a very good pair of spinners

For that to not carry with the new ball is pretty rough.

Anderson nowhere near accurate enough so far.

nz spinners aren't bowling to badly but their chances rest on the amount of reverse tang southee and boult can get

Reverse started in the 31st over in the warm-up, but it was pretty tame. Chalk and cheese to the Duke reverse of the Windies.
