Do you know why Pakistan didn't pick him for the Sri Lanka series? Felt he could've done really well there.

Just weird Pakistani selections. I couldn't believe it, personally, and I said the same at the time. Rehman is nowhere near the bowler Babar is.

It's almost just as strange that they picked him again after dropping him for that tour.

Look at it from a team perspective

Smith Warner and Clarke have all been better or have similar results with a lot of credit in the bank in Clarke's case

Doolan is in trouble too.

Watson and Haddin have other advantages and aren't far off over the past 12 months.

I'd also point out half of his hundreds are from dead rubbers.

I wouldn't drop him but hopefully you can see where the problem comes from. Getting someone doing well at 3 is more important but that's been a long term problem. Watson (2) SMarsh and Ponting are the only people to ton up from 3 in the past 5 years (!)

He has also done well this test.

Every series we play on slow, dead pitches, we go back to Ground Zero

Like all the lessons we learned last time in these conditions have been erased

It's like an accountant knowing their debits, but not their credits (i.e half competent)

We know fast pitches but not slow ones

I forgot Chester-le-Street was a lost ashes but not a lost series so its 2 or 3 dead (from 4) 1 or 2 live depending on how you want to call that.

Most matches are played with the series still live.

Dunno with SOK still to come I wouldn't be surprised with a tight finish. Hopefully SOK comes in before Siddle, but I'm doubtful.
