Ajmal Action Reported

I do wonder if someone from 'the big three' will ever get banned. Not that I can think of anyone who sticks out to me.

Ojha probably the closest, although there are a lot of spinners at domestic level in India with kinky actions (Suryakumar Yadav being suspended in the CL being one example).

It's telling that Cricinfo's list contains Aussie and English bowlers who have been suspended at the domestic level - Cameron Gannon, Glenn Querl, Jack Taylor, even Botha was suspended and had to get cleared. Add to that guys like Maurice Holmes whose career was essentially ended before it began, and it's clear to see the Big 3 make sure they crack down on dodgy actions before it reaches International level. They should get credited for this, it's a good move.

This is true, though given their fastly higher resources, its also to be expected from them.

Still a big stigma attached to chucking in Oz and kids generally have it coached out of them early doors

Honestly, it's amazing it's taken this long to snuff all these chuckers out, Ajmal especially with 42 degrees. That's absolutely ridiculous and a farce on the umpires part that it's taken 178 test wickets for something to be done.

May the cleansing continue.

No plan for Narine yet

By Roger Seepersad

Oct 8, 2014

The West Indies Cricket Board will be working with spinner Sunil Narine to ensure the 26-year-old makes a speedy return to the international arena following his Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) ban. But for now the mystery spinner says he is on a break and he is not going to let the situation get him down.

The Kolkata Knight Riders player Narine was suspended from bowling in CLT20 due to a suspected “illegal” bowling action and the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) subsequently withdrew the mystery spinner from their side for the tour of India which started yesterday with the first One-day International.

“The withdrawal from the upcoming tour will allow Narine the opportunity to have his action assessed and plan his return to cricket,” a WICB release stated.

So far no “plan” has been outlined by Narine or the WICB, however WICB CEO Michael Muirhead said: “We are hoping it won’t be a protracted thing and we are working with him to have that process take place.”

Contacted by the Express Tuesday, Narine preferred to make no statement about the CLT20 ban and his withdrawal from the West Indies squad saying: “I have no comment on that.” Asked if the situation was getting to him in any way, Narine said: “No, I’m good”.

Muirhead even explained that “He (Narine) has volunteered and wants to go and get tested and do rehabilitation if necessary. It was a joint decision with both Sunil and the WICB in terms of what would be in the best interest of the team.”

Asked Tuesday if the WICB had made any arrangement for him to get his action tested or to do any remedial work, Narine said: “I have no comment on any of the situation(s) relating the Champions League (Twenty20)". Asked whether he was planning to resume training with the Trinidad and Tobago team or if he is was planning taking a break, Narine said: “More or less, I am on a break”. Questioned about his interim plans Narine said he did not have any as yet and asked when he was planning to resume training, he said “I have no idea as yet”.

LOL "No, i'm good", typical unpassionate response from Sunny there  . I understand the guy wants to take a break from it all but the sooner he gets to Australia the better...i want the whole thing dealt with quickly and we can see if there is indeed any problem there.

Nice find. Not looking good for Narine I think. Amla seems ridiculously filthy as well.

That's the issue with the current laws...within the next few months they can go for more testing, get themselves cleared, start playing internationals...and by the WC they could have already slipped back into bad habits. Get reported during the WC, get tested after.
