Happy to see 'dat guy' get his hattrick but The Ox was amazing as well. Hopefully he keeps his place for Chelsea.

The problem is that it isn't last season's team. Half the players that have played in the last few weeks have been new players who weren't there last season and a few of the players from last then haven't played that well yet either.

We're still brittle at the back and wasteful at the front. Reminds me of Rodgers' first season.
What's your view on Mario? Liverpool fans turning on him already. Cost the same amount as our Danny too.

Mixed feelings about Gibbs being called up for England. Happy for him, but he could really do with staying fit for a prolonged period now to maintain his current form.

Should have been capped way more than he has been imo. Luke Shaw getting a call up ahead of Gibbs for the WC was absolute nonsense. Would sooner have Gibbs than Baines quite frankly.

But yeah, hopefully he doesn't get crocked, again.

Hard to judge. Team isn't functioning well offensively and I'm not sure our way of playing is the best for him. But he is putting a shift in for every game which is really good to see. I don't see him being prolific without the team also doing well. Doesn't have the ability to keep the defence occupied on his own the way a Suarez and to a lesser extent Sturridge does. I think he'll look much better with a partner.

In other rather shocking news; Gabi admits to match-fixing.

Utd fans on Twitter getting all angsty over Welbeck atm one suspects.
I think they'll want to see him do well when Arsenal aren't competing directly with United. Apart from just generally liking him, they'll feel vindicated.

So this is good, Pym and Grimes have been called up to the U-20 England squad again. Okay, it's an odd squad, not pretending for a minute it's for the best under 20s in the country, most of them will be in the U-21s, or maybe in the U-18s, which are the traditional teams. So this has clearly been invented to give some promising players some game-time in a heightened squad, even though most of the other players are Prem ones, I'm guessing they're not near the side.

Yet still, all the other lower league clubs, and with only a handful of lower-League players in, we've got two, going to Germany to play the dreaded Hun. Great, beer and skittles.

Except of course, the FA, in their infinite wisdom want the respective clubs to pay for the travel and accommodation. Not too much trouble for Liverpool and Jordan Ibe, or the Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea players in the squad, in fact lets face it they'll get a sponsor to do it.

Yet a big problem for a Trust-run cash-poor club like Exeter. **** the FA, basically, penny-pinching ****s. No wonder we're in the ****ing ****.

That's ridiculous

It's a team of professional athletes representing their country at a reasonably senior level not a group of U/12s team going on a tour to Devon ffs

Wow, that sucks. One of the big boys should step in and pay for them as a good will gesture as it is ridiculous that Exeter should have to pay.

The FA's stance on this seems totally stupid and contradictory. In fact it's completely illogical. It basically creates perverse incentives for small clubs to not produce good young players.

Perhaps they're short on cash after paying ridiculous wages/compensation to McDonut, Capello and Roy.

Will this rule them out of the big game on Tuesday night?

Yes it will, they're back on Saturday to play the monkey-hangers and not staying for the Dutch match.

I suppose I should put the counter-argument for the FA, that they do fund our academy quite a lot. Yet they do that because we've produced good youngsters in the past. It still seems pretty petty.

Okay, humiliating confession time, I was wrong. Stop slagging off the fA on my watch. I just didn't get the point.

Apparently the reason we need extra money is to actually get them back for the Hartlepool game, the FA would have funded them to just stay in Holland for the tournament, but because we need them for Hartlepool we'll have to fly them back. Yet, that's because they're vital first-teamers for us. Still I got the wrong end of the stick, so my entire nonsense was wrong.

Still better than talking about the Europa league, I reckon:ph34r:
