That's such a good finish from Sanchez.

3-0, job's a good 'un.

Sol was a fantastic centre half, btw. Amazing physical specimen. Probably rated more highly abroad than at home for some reason. IIRC he made the team of the tournament in the 98 & 02 WCs.

Yeah, seems like they've just set up completely the wrong way tbh. Sanchez, Welbeck and Ox just being given loads of space, and terrorizing their defence as a result.

The fact that Sneijder has been their best defensive player says it all really.

Just need to see the game out without any injuries now. Another goal for Welbeck would be nice too.

God knows how he made it ahead of Rio in 02 though, as much as one despises him

Just a great goal that. Great run, great pass, great finish.
Most of the goals tonight have been a combination of all three tbh. I love Giroud, but simply put, Arsenal would just not have scored these goals tonight had he been playing. Welbeck's pace and movement makes such a difference.

... and thats why Utd fans with half a brain didn't really want Welbeck to go. The lads got ability, and can get goals when put in front of them.

Though his hatrick tonight is tainted by the fact the last Arsenal player to do it in the CL was The Lord himself....

It's crazy really. I mean obviously Suarez was a huge loss, and Sturridge too, but their general play was so good last season yet now it's like Dalglish's full season
The problem is that it isn't last season's team. Half the players that have played in the last few weeks have been new players who weren't there last season and a few of the players from last then haven't played that well yet either.

We're still brittle at the back and wasteful at the front. Reminds me of Rodgers' first season.

Markovic has been absolutely terrible. Ibe is better, and didn't cost 20mil.

Classic Rodgers grinding-my-gears with the two subs again...

Looking forward to having Studge back. Far from given up on the season :)

Possibly is - the whole 'boo hoo 2 games a week grow a pair' brigade will have a field day no doubt, but at his age and the energy he spends on the pitch, his body will struggle with being a regular starter, let alone first name on the teamsheet as he seems to be for club and country now. Not only are his muscles still growing, but he's probably still in the mindset of being young and can get away with being a bit more relaxed in his fitness, which wont help (though won't hinder like it would for someone Gerrards age - theres a reason why Giggs took up Yoga as part of his training as he got older...)

But until Sturridge is back Rodgers just can't afford to rest him.....
