Possibly worse as the hope of winning a test and all that when we were a shambles and the hope you may win this series.
Yeah no doubt it'll be worse for some. I can't choose between the two personally.

In 2011 we were #1 and had just won the WC. We had Zaheer who was one of the best in the world at the time and a batting lineup that had been doing consistently well for a couple of years. Nearly everyone (other than GIMH ofc) thought it'd be a brilliant, closely contested series. By the time that last test came around we had resorted to calling up a player who had been underperforming domestically and had no business of being anywhere near the test squad, solely because he did decently in England years ago. That SOS to RP Singh was the lowest point of my short time watching cricket. Have never seen a more desperate act. Australia was a disaster as well, but thankfully I was overseas and unable to watch most of it, which meant I wasn't as emotionally invested in it.

This year we had so many promising batsmen, nearly all with some degree of success in the 4 tests we had played overseas. IIRC there are multiple posts around CW which say India had the strongest batting lineup in the world after South Africa. We also had the most number of decent quick bowlers India has had for a long, long time. Indians kept joking that we'd get destroyed and play Cook back into form, but I'm pretty sure deep down we were all quietly confident that we wouldn't embarrass ourselves. The win at Lords sort of gave us more confidence, it was genuinely my happiest moment alongside the 2011 WC win as an Indian supporter. To come crashing down so heavily from that high has been what's hardest to swallow this time round.

Pretty sure I called a 3-0 win to England with a rain affected draw in the other one. :p

Is it just me who wouldn't mind seeing the HawkEye graphic carry on if the ball pitches outside leg? Obviously it's irrelevant but I'd like to see hkw close a shout it is particularly if it's marginally outside leg.

Gambhir should play Baseball for a while and forget that an area behind square on the off exists.
