They just need to leave him the **** alone when he next gets picked. He'll have rough patches like everyone, but he will always work through it and come out better. 100 tests and 10,000 run player for us if we stop ****ing him around. Happy for him to wait until Rogers is done, but after that he should be a ****ing lock. He's more than earnt it.

True, but realistically the selectors could hide it by picking a guy like Maxwell or Henriques and sight horses for courses.

They could. But its weird to hide Hughes from Maxwell.

Hughes 26 Tests, 111 First Class matches and 25 years 262 days for:
Maxwell 2 Tests, 28 First Class matches and 25 years 309 days

I've been pretty scathing of Hughes ability to handle Test match situations but really he's at that age and has the experience where he simply just needs to stand up and if a spot is available, we must pick him, even if it is against Ajmal.
