Norwood's on Fire
I just looked up Broad's average from the 4th Ashes Test in 09 onwards, as it was at the end of the test before where something seemed to click. 27.53 was the result, an impressive figure for a five year period in which his head has still been called for on numerous occasions

I then looked Anderson's up for the same period, purely out of interest and it came out as 27.58

Shows you really that whichever way you spin it as to who is the better bowler, they are generally a very consistent partnership. I kinda feel we've under appreciated them at times.

See the whole thing about Moeen, why the **** shouldn't he take wickets?

It's not Sehwag, an in form Gambhir, Dravid, Tendulkar and Laxman he's bowling to. These are young, inexperienced batsmen who, judging by the spinners India field in their Test side, aren't exactly facing quality spinners in their own domestic First Class competition. Why are we assuming the likes of Kohli, Rahane etc are good at playing spin because of their passports?

I understand your point, but in the end India are good against spin, they show it again and again in ODIs, if other spinners had ripped through this line-up you'd have a point, but I'm not aware of any.

Moeen has been talked down totally as a part-timer, there seemed to be no expectations he'd take a wicket, so us fans are right to be gleeful and laugh at the detractors.

BTW I know I'm being a bit tedious on this subject, but I've had months of rubbish about him, even from the greatest of posters (Brumbers), so FFS allow me little gloating, it'll turn around soon I'm sure.

In the tests against Sri Lanka it felt like Cook didn't know what to do with Moeen - set a field as he would for a proper bowler like Swann, or basically post a one-day field and assume any wickets would come from batsmen trying to go after him? And it felt like he might be ditched for the India series - slightly ironic that his place was saved by his superb hundred with the bat, as that is currently looking his weaker suit.

Incidentally, when referring to him in sentences like the above, is it best to say "Moeen", "Ali", or "Moeen Ali"?

Tbf mate you're tedious on all topics
Fair enough, and obviously you are the guy that should be able to judge this, as you've made nearly 50k posts without saying anything of any remote interest, depth or indeed a little consideration.

So I bow to your incomparable knowledge on this subject, as you are the master.

Oh look, just because my team is above yours in the league doesn't mean you have to be a **** now does it

I think you'll find I've always been a **** and your joke of a team has been above us most of that time.

Still we're the best team in Devon & Cornwall which is all I ask.

I think there are quite a few SC bowlers who somehow don't get picked who are probably better than him. Ojha, Babar, Mishra etc. But he's also better than a lot of specialist spinners (Craig, Sodhi, probably Benn, a few of the Bangladeshis, Jadeja, Ashwin...).

Being a better spinner than Duminy is about as good as it gets if you're batting in the top 7. And yeah I think his batting will come good too.
Mishra is utter tripe these days.

Dobell throwing a jab at Warne/Vaughan here. Specifically mentioning Vaughan's criticism of Woakes moving everything away from the RH bat. GB is totally correct, Woakes has a good ball that holds it lines/moves in.
Yeah, he's spot on. You have to question whether many of the commentators/pundits even follow county cricket, and they obviously don't watch any Championship games, unless Sky are covering their one for the season. And yet they're willing to call the likes of Moeen a part timer with such conviction.

I realize Ashwin has an ordinary away record, but a few good matches does not make Ali better than him. Ashwin has single handed won multiple series for India ffs.

Jono to stop posting and start stocking up on a dozen kilos of Biryani for the next match.

Have you watched Ashwin bowl recently? There is nothing going for him. No control, no spin, no flight dip or drift, nothing. He might have had some of those things a couple of seasons ago but he's not the same bowler. Even then I always thought Ojha was the far superior bowler.

Not since he was wrecking **** in the WT20 admittedly, but class is permanent. You don't go from being the fastest Indian to 100 wickets to useless. It's just a matter of time.
