Pankaj spewing that he can't buy a wicket, while Jadeja pulls a Warne-like dismissal out of nowhere.

Ultimate troll.

Yeah, I love Root, and he's definitely capable, just keen to see Jos.

Cook plays the anchor role while the guy up the other end attacks a bit more -- not necessarily a bad idea, tbh.
We lead by 350. I don't think anyone needs to play anchor role. He's playing for himself, and himself only.

To be fair Root is the only other Englishman apart from Buttler to get a one day ton this year that is playing in this test. He can get on with it.
Yeah, Root can move it along but he isn't really capable/likely of slapping 50 off 20 odd balls like Jos is. I'm sure India were happy not to see Butler coming out after the last wicket.

Considering the torrid time Cook has had for the last year, so long as he isn't nicking to the slips I don't care what he does while he's out there. I'm with Dan, Cook can spend some time in he middle while the other end kicks on.

I don't mind Root coming in tbh. He can score pretty dirty runs when the situation requires and right now if he can just hit gaps and scamper 1s/2s then that's fine. It doesn't have to be big pretty hits over extra.

Root's a super consistent finisher in one day cricket in that he'll regularly get 40/50 off 30/40 balls but he doesn't have the same ceiling in terms of an innings strike rate. Shows they're still looking to bat for quite a while IMO.

if dhoni ever retires, that would mean the end of his "OILEZEEEEE" appeal. i hope that day never comes

I hope it comes. Soon. #HateDhoni

Well played I guess. Wouldn't agree with him being in "one-day mode" though. Trying to find form, and he's getting there. Hope he accelerates now.
