KP would've been playing when we had Ambrose mind you.
Strauss would've been back too, albeit rather spawnily as he'd done nowt to justify his recall in his absence.

Had to get a big daddy ton in the last test of the NZ tour to save his career, as I recall. 191, maybe?

How come Dhoni never gets the **** Cook (rightfully) does about being negative? Has his spinner bowling darts at leg stump in the 42nd over.

TBF Dhoni's had a fair bit of guff on CW for being negative over the years, just seems to get away with it.

The Teflon Dhon(i).

India haven't bowled badly. They have generally put the ball in good areas, found some life off the pitch, and have stuck to their task. They've been a bit inconsistent I suppose, and dropped Cook, but not horrible bowling. Robson Cook and Ballance are just the type of batsmen who bide their time and don't offer chances.
Trouble is they have bowled more bad balls here than in the previous tests and the bats have put them away for 3 or 4. Eases the pressure on them.

Haven't been watching, anything in particular to blame for the lack of wickets? Heard Jadeja dropped a sitter.

"Sitter" maybe overstates it, but should've been held.

Indian lines haven't been as good as they've been first coupla tests. Either too wide or too straight.

Whatever it takes!!!
I like how you have 2 isolated incidents and then tacked on an 'etc.' at the end to make it seem like you have enough to base a coherent argument on.

Well, Burgey thought one Harbhajan incident was enough to put the "etc." next to.. He is just following the forum seniors, I guess :p

I don't follow Indian media much but he's had stones thrown at his house sooo
Did those stones have criticisms of negative captaincy written on them? I am not talking about him never being put under pressure or being criticised - he is the Indian captain there isn't a more pressure filled job in cricket, was talking specifically about negative captaincy.

Jadeja really is a remarkably unremarkable bowler. Just so very "bleh"; no quirks or pecadillos at all.

Like watching wallpaper bowl.

Slip catches, apart from top edges that balloon into the air, are hardly ever sitters. Sure enough, chances like Jadeja's are taken more often than they are wasted, but not even the best slip fielders take 'm all.

Which makes me wonder: are there any good statistics on succesful slip catch percentages?

I said this last game.. But we are playing Cook into form.. And you cant just drop 5 catches in the slips over 2 tests and 1 day of this one and expect to get away with it. Fully expect a daddy ton from Cook and a big first innings batathon from England.. And please God, if it is going to be a batathon, please please please let me watch Bell, Moeen and Butler.. Watching these two can be excruciating, as well as they are playing..

But with our luck, it would be these two with the daddy hundreds :(
