Really don't think Dhoni is someone who'd lie like that. At worst it's an exaggeration imo.

Ya hard to think Dhoni lied both at the hearing and to the press. Let's see what happens with the Anderson hearing.

If the pitch turns out to be as bouncy as predicted, the length Broad has been bowling over the first 2 tests might get a load of wickets. Think we might lose this and when they are all patting each other on the back/pissing on the pitch, we will take the 4th test.

If anything, a bouncier pitch means your stock length should be fuller. Obviously more carry makes the bouncer a more potent weapon, but it also means the ball will rise more off a good length. Broad hasn't been short in a "constant bouncers" sort of way; he's been short in a "consistently a yard too short" sort of way, and a bouncy pitch won't make this any more effective.

He bowled a length that would suit a bouncier track in the last 2 games imo. A yard too short might be just right if there is more kick in the pitch.

Nah the more bounce the fuller you bowl, the batsman has less room for error that way, the number of times we've ballsed up in Perth by pitching it halfway down the strip.

Iirc the camera at Trent Bridge was there for Club Life, don't think they were installed for security reasons.

Yeah I probably don't know a lot about bounce having never played in a properly prepared bouncy pitch. Was either dusty red soil pitches or concrete pitches with rubber/tennis balls.

If I were MSD I would have chosen Binny for the 3rd test and told Binny I would guarantee X no of tests for him if he punched/bitch slapped Anderson towards the end of the test and cop a ban. Make himself useful. The system clearly doesn't work if you are not white.

Didn't you say you were going to take a break from the forum? You really need it imo, been posting complete crap for a good couple of months now.

Yeah, theoretically a bouncier pitch means the length has to be fuller to drive, as what was a driving length would now be a splice hitting length. Of course, a quicker pitch could make it easier to play on the up, but a fuller length would still be better.

It could just as easily have been:

- Anderson pushes Jadeja when Jadeja turns around (no "bumping with hands up")
- Dhoni has been watching it the whole time, and is pretty pissed off.

He's not lying, it's just clear that he didn't actually see the incident, so I don't know why he feels he can make a judgement on it.

I think we should probably suspend judgement on this until Anderson's hearing is completed tbh. I'm getting the same impression as Spark.

Yes just a shame that if anything it feels like he was a better player 5 or 6 years ago than the one he is today.

Former coach says Buttler could be England captain. Standard former coach talk but looks strangely appealing right now given the paucity of options.

Jos Buttler can go on to captain England, says his school coach | Western Daily Press

You kind of forget how young Jos still is. He’s only 23! He has a knowledge of the game and an authority beyond his years. He’s very astute with what he says.
He doesn’t say much, but when he does everybody stands up and listens and it’s normally spot on. He’s a brilliant reader of the game and he handles pressure really well.
