Its a quota thing - with Buttler being English, replacing Prior a Saffer,, we couldn't pick another man born in EnglandReading Cricinfo...whats the reason behind selecting Jordan?
If Stokes plays he bats 10 then. He isn't worth a place higher at the moment, awful awful batting form.Yea, I can certainly see the logic in dropping the best performing bowler from the last Test just because he happens to be an all-rounder who's having a bad run with the bat. Oh yea and he's one of the best fielders in the side too. Broad's bowling basically lost this Test match for England, four new balls and he was absolutely atrocious with all of them and he was the main reason why India comfortably survived more than 80 overs both innings in the first place.
But as always with England it's the newbies that are extremely disposable whilst the senior players seem to strive for mediocrity. This is a perfect opportunity to rotate the bowling after a game-losing performance from Broad. But no several people think getting rid of the best performing bowler is the way to go because he got a pair. Brilliant.
TBH there's a thread for that, I only answered on a mistake.Just on the KP is not playing County Cricket and is going to play in T20 leagues so isn't showing he really wants back in point...
If he was genuinely told by the ECB he was not going to ever be selected again, even if he still wants to play for England again, why would you play County Cricket? Sure you could make a point by absolutely dominating it, but that could just result in the media asking for your return but the ECB sticking fat and not giving a ****. If he's been told never ever. Well...
Cricket is such a game of inches, even millimetres. If Clarke comes out blazing as he did in the second dig in Brisbane against the short ball but top edged one to backward square, there'd have been hell to pay. It's just the way he got out. If he was an Aussie and got out like that there would be calls for him to be dropped, rightly or wrongly. I said the same thing when Clarke did get out like that in Brisbane, that if that was anyone else in the side they would have copped so much **** from the media.
Haha yep. I thought that all along during that innings.Cricket is such a game of inches, even millimetres. If Clarke comes out blazing as he did in the second dig in Brisbane against the short ball but top edged one to backward square, there'd have been hell to pay.
KP scoring runs at fc level wouldn't prove a thing anyway as guys as good as he is could do it with their eyes shut e.g. Cook earlier this yearJust on the KP is not playing County Cricket and is going to play in T20 leagues so isn't showing he really wants back in point...

Who are you, ****? Michael Jones?Wait, why the **** does the next test start on a Sunday? I don't even...
Wonder how good the current Australian team is. M not sure if they can win without Mitchell Johnson and Ryan Harris. Too much dependence on two aging pacers.at least when australia was **** we were debuting ****s all over the place so it always gave you some hope
If Johnson and Harris are both unfit for the upcoming series against India, Australia will win 3-0 instead of 4-0.Wonder how good the current Australian team is. M not sure if they can win without Mitchell Johnson and Ryan Harris. Too much dependence on two aging pacers.
Even India can beat Australia 4-0 at home without Ashwin, Ojha or Jadeja. If Johnson and Harris are both unfit for the upcoming series against India, Australia will win 3-0 instead of 4-0.
Oh, the look on the faces of Aussies when Ishant out-bounces the return-to-crap-mode Johnson. Make that happen, o mighty deity. If Johnson and Harris are both unfit for the upcoming series against India, Australia will win 3-0 instead of 4-0.
You're basically repeating what every Australian supporter on here has said about the side over the past nine months tbf.Even India can beat Australia 4-0 at home without Ashwin, Ojha or Jadeja.
That's not the point, I know Australia will be the favorites to win against India at home.
Johnson and Harris have been bowling at their best, they have a lot of experience, I would back them to do well in most conditions, the other crop of bowlers do not have the same impact as them. Plus, their batting line-up is not settled yet, yes they are winning so people won't look too much into it. Rogers might be playing his last test anytime soon, Watson's form hasn't been the best, Marsh is inconsistent, same with Haddin and the team is still not sure about their number 3 batsmen. So yes, the brilliance of Johnson and Harris are hiding some of the vulnerabilities of the Australian team.
Yeah agreed, infact the only thing that could happen is that he struggles and almost justifies the ECB not picking him.KP scoring runs at fc level wouldn't prove a thing anyway as guys as good as he is could do it with their eyes shut e.g. Cook earlier this year
