I don't care for the silly stats Cricinfo viewers often fawn over but has a team ever lost after declaring in both innings?

Looking at those two dismissals, it seems like there was very little the batsman could do to keep them out, shows why it pays to be proactive under pressure I guess

Sanga has to be careful going for that cover drive out of the rough, needs to look to take the ball on the full if he wants to drive on the offside

Well that was unexpected.. SL need to be a bit more industrious.. even a draw is unlikely if they keep trying to survive.. need to put some pressure back on SA to have a chance.

I think they can target Philander on this wicket, the real threat is Morkel and Steyn. They're doing the right thing against Tahir. It's going to be interesting if these guys can put on another 50 without a loss in wicket. Duminy and Tahir both need to be going at 4s or more from this point on.

That's the benefit of having an attack with Morkel, Steyn and Philander. When other bowlers come on, the right strategy is to go after the other bowlers - but that makes the other bowlers likely to conjure a maddening wicket with **** bowling.

Man , Tahir must be mad. All his long hops disappear for boundaries
The good thing from Amla is that despite of Tahir going for runs he is trying to give him more overs, its a 5th day wicket, and the batsmen are trying to attack him, so there are chances that he can pick a couple of wickets to make it a bit easier for the pacers. But maybe he'll have to stop using him at some point of time since the number of runs to defend are not plenty, the target is still gettable.
