Steyn. WAFG. Get him up here, I wanna **** him.

Mathews turning into a proper player these days too. Good on him

He has a very good chance of retiring as the best ever fast bowler in terms of overall record. Assuming he doesn't hang around too long and ruin it.
He will still have 3-4 fruitful years considering he is 31 year old. 140-150 more wickets, I guess.

Yes I was overreacting but Herath has been a shell of himself this year.. without him firing our bowling looks very average.
I've watched a few spells and he's still regularly beating batsmen in the flight and with his arm ball. I think people are kinda Vettori-ing him now.

Couldn't watch yesterday as I was out...how was Amla's captaincy?
Can't really evaluate when there's a ****-steyn on the opposition.. He did bring him on after Morkel got Sanga out.. supposedly because Steyn can take out a new batsman easier..

SA have played him well, but there was an article about how it looks like he's lost some of his revs.. possibly his back issues not allowing him to really rip the ball.. I recall Moeen Ali had more revs on the ball in the Eng tour which seems wrong..

he wasn't ever someone that put a huge amount of revs on the ball.

I would suspect we will go with three quicks for Pallekele, not only does it swing a bit but the pitch is quite fast and bouncy compared to the rest of the SC. I think Prasad and Eranga's ability to get that skiddy bounce and pace will probably be preffered over Lakmal, Pradeep's bang it into the pitch style will never be very successful in Sri Lanka one feels.

Not sure if serious.. 2nd test is at SSC.

I don't understand Faf at 3 in this team. He's a quality enough Cricketer, but surely Amla's terrific career at 3 didn't need to be moved. Mathews at 6 isn't the best position for him either, despite being terrific with the tail.

BTW, I would be aiming for a further 180 runs from 50 overs or so. South Africa would set SL 380 from 105 overs.

Ahddammit missed Steyn's spell. Oh well, will catch the highlights in the evening. Saves me the trouble of trying to find something else to fap to.

Was going to post/ask the same thing. Doesn't make sense (unless it has to do with the captaincy - I'm clutching at straws).
