Bugger. So close to sneaking an undeserved draw.

Well done Moeen Ali, what a performance. I take it all back about Weirdy Beardy that was a brilliant effort.

Trouble with getting so close to saving it is it will probably save Cook.

@tickerscricket: So Anderson's real and honest emotion has gone down better than a million bland platitudes and rehearsed soundbites. Funny that.

Guess getting out to a short ball after getting so much of the same in Aus stings a bit. Brings back memories and ****, I dunno.

Well this match, and the previous one, teaches us one thing above all: you can stick your crappy T20s up your arse. Test cricket is the dog's bollocks. Even if we keep on losing. At least we managed to turn miserable shameful failure into heroic failure.

Many congratulations to Sri Lanka. Brilliant cricket and a thoroughly deserved win. Enjoy it!

Was definitely worth the fiver I paid to get in. Gutted not to get over the line though, it was edge of the seat stuff at the ground.

Money on Yorkslanka been the SL supporter in the orange top who spent the afternoon session attempting to get Rott and Ali's attention in order to properly sledge/encourage them.

GO ON SRI LANKA!!!what a wonderful day of test cricket and I was SO privileged to be there today ( and on the third day) . Firstly despite the result, really well done to England who didn't fold but fought really hard to (almost) save the game. Huge credit has to go yo Ali, I was really impressed with his temperament and his excellent judgement of shot selection- had simply didn't play at anything he didn't have to and it paid off. He got a standing ovation on his ton from all of us in the ground irrespective of who we were supporting.

I am so happy to witness another chapter of Sri Lankan cricket and dealing with our detractors by winning our first test series here in England. Before the tests, I publicly stated a good result for us would be to draw the series having won the limited overs leg if the tour so what a fantastic result this was. Icing on the cake seeing Anderson crying like a b***** at the presentation after all the grief he has given our boys during the tour.:ph34r:well done Sri Lanka..thoroughly deserved series victory and a clean sweep in England!!

Afraid not VT, that my friend was the (in)famous Percy from SL..I know I am crazy but not that crazy mate...well worth a fiver tho wasn't it?

I hope for your sake you weren't sat too close to him, he was annoying me and I was in the rugby club stand and he was in the old members stand wasn't he?

Seriously, could England not play a four test series against India and had made this a three test series instead?

About 40 odd feet away but I moved up nearer the Trueman Stand after Tea. Always a good offer on the fifth day when there's everything to play for.

Headingley rarely disappoints with what the Test gives you I have to say. Deserve's a mid summer test rather than an early one I tend to feel.

@Howise, tend to agree but I'd rather have scrapped the one dayers or shortened them and got a fifth test with India and a 3rd with SL.
