Incredibly poor stuff from the last 2 SL batsmen

They should have supported their captain, not tried to be heroes

Does Plunkett having 9fer to his name mean we have to admit he's a decent bowler?

I preferred the old version.

He's doing a good job of being the poor mans Johnson though.:(

Mathews turning down the singles already. Shows the Lankans still think the pitch has demons.
He could declare tbh. SL's seamers will bowl way better than England's, and England's batting is far to flakey to get close. Plus Herath will make more use of the turn than Ali, of course.

A truly dire performance by England in viirtually every aspect of their game.

I don't know if he is decent but he is better and more entertaining than before. He just has a good look as well - he looks athletic and strong right now.

You're overreacting imo. Sri Lanka's seamers did jump you, but they're more likely to fall to pieces once a bit of resistance is shown. Prasad and Pradeep have no control and Eranga is ok but nothing great.

If Matthews, Eranga and Herath bowl most of the overs (which they should) then we may outbowl England, certainly the presence of Herath makes our attack look reasonably menacing in that kind of situation

SL are 300+ for 7 with a couple of guys having chucked their wickets away so the pitch cant be unplayable irrespective of how poorly Eng have bowled at times

200 is simply not a big enough lead if Eng bat half-decently

Gee this is a ****ing good match, both teams did all-right that session, would've hoped Prasad had more stomach for the fight but he's the worlds worst no 8 by some distance anyway, Herath doing that thing where he bats properly when he knows he has to bowl to whatever target they set, Matthews playing it beautifully under pressure as per usual, riveting stuff

I reckon 250 might be a good lead for us, although I seriously doubt that we'd be able to get that many runs. Come on, Herath!
