does anyone know what the deal is on cricinfo with this control % stat?

i think it's more or less the number of balls that the batsman played in the way he intended. so the % minus edges, chips, false shots, plays and misses etc

In fairness in real time the LBW looked to be going over and I didn't think they should review it, and for the caught behind he hit the ground with the bat at exactly the same instant as he nicked the ball - so there weren't two distinct noises.

Just the way they talk up Prior as being so great with DRS then they have ballsed up here. Not appealing for the catch was a whole cordon thing but the lbw should have been sent upstairs.

Yep, as I understand it Prior came into the Tests with basically no keeping since half way through the Ashes. Before the first Test he was saying that he was confident about his batting (he scored a 100 in the first FC match of the season for Sussex, playing as a specialist batsman, before getting injured again) but that he didn't know how he'd go with the gloves.

He did catch it! Then he decided to drop it again.

As a general rule, separating your hands when the ball is wedged between isn't wise
