***Official*** New Zealand in the West Indies 2014

BeeGee

International Captain
Brendan paying the price for not preparing for the tour properly.

Not putting the boot in just observing - this is his 3rd pour tour in a row after average performances in Bangladesh and Englang
I wonder how far away he is from retirement? I know he's not that old, but if his back continues to get worse, I think he would probably retire from tests first to prolong his LO career.

If Neesham can continue his good form with the bat (big if) we may end up in the enviable position of playing Neesham at 5 and Anderson at 6.

Just idle speculation.

Big trouble now.

This is a flat pitch and only going to get flatter. Our bowlers won't look as good without scoreboard pressure and 2 days in the field to contend with for the West Indies batsmen.

Need a big innings from Watling and the tail to wag.

So many wickets thrown away.
That's the risk we have with Neesham/Anderson coming in at 6. They're going to play their shots.

There's so much responsibility on Williamson and Latham to set the platform and they threw it away.

Listening to Hadlee on the radio, I now realise why we have been through so many openers (especially converted) while he was selector, he suggested both Watling and Williamson go up the order in his short commentary both.

Anyway, I'm happy to see Blocky tasting it.

I'll also point out that Blocky didn't rate Latham, something he forgot to mention in his "I was right about everything" comment.

That just moves the hole to 3.

need to score at least 100 more. 300 looks a lot better than 198/6.

mccullum has a horrific away record as captain. was averaging 14 before this test iirc.

Yeah the first new ball jagged around, the second won't suit a cheeky Plunket Shield-style tail wag. 250ao.

As WW would say, it's going to be a big test of our bowlers when we're dismissed for a below-par score.
