Indian Premier League 2014

Faulkner absolutely nicking a living in the IPL this year. Took him 5 minutes to decide to bowl a knee high, leg stump full toss. Just put it outside off stump, if a new batsman cover drives you for 6 then you tip your cap and walk off.

Was pretty poor situational awareness from Anderson/Raydu actually. No need to take on suicidal 2nd run, should have left Anderson on strike.

Faulkner hasn't really done anything to warrant bowling that over.. after that WI last over it showed he wasn't good at handling pressure when bowling - even if he can do it when batting..

Lowest strike rate for MI(minimum 10 balls faced) - Sharma(145). ****, maybe they should just use this tactic in every game.

No one knew about possible qualification after a tie..

Both Anderson and Raydu were under the impression that that was the last ball of the match so they had no choice but to try for a potential last run.

This match should once and for all tell Mumbai that you GIVE YOUR MAIN PLAYERS AS MUCH OVERS TO PLAY AS POSSIBLE! If only they had allowed Anderson and pollard to come in up the order instead of with 10 balls left or something they would have qualified much earlier.

They just stumbled onto the best batting order by accident here. Wouldn't be surprised if they try the same thing again in the next game.

It's weird how they're saying that Anderson flopped all season. He did pretty well with the bat most of the opportunities he got. His bowling was generally awful, but that must have been expected.

Quite. No idea why so many teams insist(ed) on doing otherwise.

I think a lot of the criticism has been based on how much he was bought for. Prior to last night his performances may not have been terrible, but neither have they been worth anywhere near $800,000.

yeah but talking value does not and has never made sense in the IPL. There are far worse buys across its history and even this season.
