I agree completely about his technique, or rather the lack of it, but imo you're giving the whole 'sheer determination and hard work' a bit too much credit here.
Yap, I won't deny that. But everyone has their own ways of judging players, none can be totally right or totally wrong. I like players who push themselves to perform a bit higher than their potential.

Yusuf Pathan sucks.

I can't actually articulate why because I can't say I've ever bothered to watch him 'bat' (I use the term loosely). But I don't like him and therefore he must suck. He's still not as bad as M Vijay, however.

M completely aware of what m talking about. Yusuf is a very limited player, he doesn't play the defensive shots well, can't rotate the strike easily with those gentle nudges like most good batsmen can do, poor technique, not very agile, its just the sheer determination and hardwork that he can survive despite of that and play such match winning innings. There are many players with hand eye co-ordination who do well, but they do certain basics correct, Sehwag doesn't look like a total tailender when he bats, despite of the lack of footwork. But Yusuf is a almost a tailender if you remove the big hits from his game.
Tailenders do not average close to 40 in first class cricket while striking at over 90. Poor batsman with limited ability? Yes. Tailender? No. McGrath and Chris Martin are tailenders, he isn't.

So yeah, very poor choice of words and poor understanding of cricketing terms. 2/10

You misunderstood my point, I said he has a tailender's technique, which is correct because if his big hits don't come off, he has nothing else to rely on. Only way he can survive is by attacking the bowlers, he is not the best at rotating the strike by placing the balls in the gaps, he can't defend the ball well, he looks totally awkward when he tries to do that.

And talking about his FC record, you should take a look at his strike rate, its 90, so again, he relies only on his big shots to score runs and stay at the crease, there is nothing else he can do.

RR deserve to lose out on the finals after not picking Steve Smith.

I mean Brad Hodge? Really?

These batting order switches aren't ideal, it's ended up working for RR this time (although Watto failed big time) but I hope they don't keep doing this for future games if they make it. Karun nair is a serious player btw.

Ahead of the qualification RRR after 4 overs. Will be epic if they actually do it.

ffs

I really don't think think it's as difficult as the run rate makes it out tto be. The fact that it's 13 rpo in 15 overs strangely gives MI an advantage in that they need to keep up their hitting for a shorter period of time. A higher run rate, yes but it's concentrated over an even shorter duration than 20 overs. This gives them licence to shuffle the order and just send their sluggers in early
