Indian Premier League 2014

Buying those players doesn't make it the wrong move, its just that they were in a sense forced to spend more on Yuvraj than they would have liked due to some miscommunication at the auction. And then they didn't have enough money to buy quality bowlers. Kohli isn't that great a captain yet, and they need to decide whether a half fit gayle is really worth it in the team. I don't know why they haven't played rampaul unless he's injured.
I thought Kohli wanted Yuvi at all costs?

If one day, Srikkanth becomes a commentator, Danny Morrison will have to step up his game big time to retain his most annoying **** in the universe title

Will SRH be able to jump i playoffs if it is an equal points situation & the Net RR difference.
Also, if MI wins their next, does it put SRH below MI?
This IPL is getting more interesting even before playoffs.

Karn Sharma bowls much better than Jadeja, Jadeja is useless on flat wickets and concedes too many against the left handers. I think Karn Sharma should be given a few opportunities in the LO formats. Harbhajan has also found his rhythm back. Has bowled well in this tournament.

Chris Gayle, a bit **** really?

Yeah I know he's been injured but how much money does one guy get paid from all the T20 leagues to win next-to-nothing.

Look I've seen him when he gets going and yeah it's incredible, but this tactic of going really quite slow at the start of his innings is a bit rubbish really, when he get's out early it means they've not only lost his wicket, but lost vital overs of the first PP. Dhoni can do it down the order, because he generally gauges what he wants to score and works from that. Gayle really should just be shooting the lights out from the start with his talent. To sum up when he's good he does well, when he's bad he practically loses you the match.

Anyway great innings from Yusuf there.

pathan's a fat dunder-headed **** who should hvea been out for 0.
Such things happen, its the beauty of the game, he was unlucky to be run out in the last match where he was looking all set for a big innings, the bat bounced of the surface(even though it was inside the line) when he dived. And I know many people who hate him, and its understandable since he has been too inconsistent after joining KKR, but it was also to do with the fact that he was labelled as a lower order finisher which he was clearly not, he has done well only at times when he has had enough overs in his hand. I have always supported players like him and Sammy for their attitude, Yusuf was trying to do what was required rather than thinking of his personal form. He was telling Shakib that he'll attack and try to chase the target(in hindi, if you could lip read) when he was telling him to calm down. Anyone in his place would have given up after being at 57 for 2 in 8 overs and the team needing 161 in 15.2 overs to make it to the top 2. But he didn't, he kept attacking, a player who has been criticized so much for his lack of form wouldn't have just try to hit the ball out of the park from the first ball for the team's cause. And m not sure many players could have done what he did in that situation.

He is not as talented as other players around him, bats with a tailender's technique, but what drives him is his determination, he works harder than most of the guys and believes in what he does. And for him to achieve with his limited abilities is unbelievable. With so much competition around, most Indian youngsters have had a very safe approach to their batting, its good to see someone being so selfless. His inconsistency can be frustrating, but he has been a number 4/5 batsmen where he has not got regular opportunities.

I don't think you know what you are talking about.
M completely aware of what m talking about. Yusuf is a very limited player, he doesn't play the defensive shots well, can't rotate the strike easily with those gentle nudges like most good batsmen can do, poor technique, not very agile, its just the sheer determination and hardwork that he can survive despite of that and play such match winning innings. There are many players with hand eye co-ordination who do well, but they do certain basics correct, Sehwag doesn't look like a total tailender when he bats, despite of the lack of footwork. But Yusuf is a almost a tailender if you remove the big hits from his game.

I agree completely about his technique, or rather the lack of it, but imo you're giving the whole 'sheer determination and hard work' a bit too much credit here.
