may as well pick Nuwan Pradeep if you want Mendis in the side, Kula has looked good, Eranga will play and Lakmal's last few tests have been excellent, our three seam attack isn't looking that bad and we don't have a second spinner to justify that kind of selection in these conditionsLooks like SL would be better of just playing 2 spinners in Tests regardless of the conditions.. Herath + Mendis maybe..
Kula doesn't play Tests for whatever reason, but unless the conditions are very swingy, I don't see how a three-pace attack would trouble the Eng batsmen.. Not saying Mendis would dominate, but I think he has more of a chance of doing better..may as well pick Nuwan Pradeep if you want Mendis in the side, Kula has looked good, Eranga will play and Lakmal's last few tests have been excellent, our three seam attack isn't looking that bad and we don't have a second spinner to justify that kind of selection in these conditions
Well I hope they do as an England fan. Our performances against spin in Tests has little correalation with our shambolic performances in ODIs. If we're not trying to score runs against average spinners we're better than OKAY.Looks like SL would be better of just playing 2 spinners in Tests regardless of the conditions.. It's not like SL's test attack is anything to write home about - trying to figure out what combination would get taken apart less.. Herath is the only saving grace.. the best Test match spinner around along with Ajmal..Well I hope they do as an England fan. Oh well decent innings from Ballance, now let'as hope someone has fireworks.
By far the worst thing about England batting in limited overs is the fan reaction when there appears to be slighty fewer sixes than an IPL game. 14 runs, 10 runs, 9 runs off consective overs without losing a wicket is 'nails on a chalkboard'.Its like having to endure nails on a chalkboard watching England play limited overs Cricket. They just can't get going atm.
