***Official*** Sri Lanka in England and Ireland 2014

I always feel like Eng don't care enough about T20I/ODI. Batsmen like Cook/Bell are definitely better in Tests but they have the skill to mold their game to the shorter formats - it just always seems like an afterthought.

With subcontinental batsmen it's the opposite.

Well that was a total blessing, no other way we looked like we were getting a boundary off him.

In Hales we Trust.

Seriously.. how does Eng not pick him for ODIs? Makes no sense whatsoever - he really should be the first pick.

"Alex Hales equalled Kevin Pietersen's record for the fastest to 1000 T20 runs - in 32 innings"

Malinga's bowling choices don't make much sense.. Angelo bowled 2 overs for 7 and he might not bowl again. Too much Thisara + Lakmal - maybe he wanted to get a bowl before the ODIs...

I don't understand why the SL camp thinks Lakmal is going to be their fast bowling savior in Tests.. I don't see anything to warrant it..

Too bad Malinga doesn't play Tests.. would've made for a competitive series..

Pick Ian Bell at 3 you deserve to lose.

Another 'heroic' loss. Sick of it.
The bowling at Perera must have been absolutely excremental. I know that's the state of the English game nowadays, but still galling to see these pie chuckers getting a game.

Great performance from Sri Lanka today with Malinga being the difference IMO. Also great to see that our batting didn't collapse without Mahela and Sanga - as many predicted it would...another great innings from Hales..mr gough had a shocker though...well done Sri Lanka...

Of course cos he couldn't have scored runs due to being a very good pinch hitter, only cos the bowling must have been poor...that's his role in the team I'm afraid..:lol:

Bit harsh, Jordan didn't do a lot wrong, caertainly not a pie-chucker. If you want to vent your spleen do it at Carberry for dropping him.

Thisara does this all over the world. He got a fair amount of edges too, but hey that's the nature of the game.

No one has said he will be a saviour (as far as I am aware), he will just be the leader of our quicker bowlers...he will do ok, he had a couple mid 80mph balls and can swing it..he is still young and will get better under the stewardship of Vaasy..
