How Are You Doing On CM?

No sign and loan back.

It's more you can set what squad status and position the players you loan out will be playing. If you can't afford the wage contribution you can use some transfer budget to pay a monthly fee. Also, players will request termination of loans if they're not getting enough football, so backup goalies you have to search better and get only those content at being loaned in as backup. Can also only offer players out to foreign players if you want. Also, the Director of Football can be assigned to find clubs for your young players to be loaned out to.

Considering punting van Persie at the end of the season. Mainly because he's an injury prone **** and I just spent £17m acquiring Robert Lewandowski.

Definitely punting Luuk de Jong because he had a sook about there being too much competition for places.

With Wilshere almost back from injury my squad looks like this:

First XI:

Szczesny
Koscielny
Song
Vertonghen
Isla
Gibbs
Hazard
Ramsay
Muniain
Gervinho
van Persie

2nd XI

McGregor
Mertesacker
Coquelin
Vermaelen
Jenkinson
Santos
Arteta
Ox
Lucas Moura
Walcott
Lewandowski

Aw yeah.

Sucked big time in my first season, somehow managed to hang on to my job during the first half of the season despite spending most of it in the bottom half. Had some terrible, terrible results such as being demolished 7-1 by Juve, losing to Celtic and West Ham 3-0 at home, throwing away a 4-1 lead to lost 5-4 to Villa among others. The fact that I got some really good results against my rivals was all that kept me in a job.
Was really frustrating, everyone would seemingly get ratings of >7.00 90% of the time but I'd drop so many points.
Out of the Carling Cup in the 4th round, FA Cup 3rd round, CL QF and 7th in the league behind Newcastle and Stoke (5th and 6th). Would've made Euros if not for Adebayor scoring a 90th minute OG to give Stoke a point at WHL and keeping them above me :(

Just finished first season with Real Sociedad, came 4th so happy with that, not any money to spend but they have some really good young players.

Messi only got 36 goals in the league, real life clearly less realistic.

So new one, started unemployed, took the Villa job when they booted Lambert (they were 14th, but the table was so close that winning my first game took me to 8th, where we've stayed ever since)

Erractic results mind, lost 2 on the bounce with last minute own goals, smashed West Ham 4-1 away, only to lose 4-0 next game at home to Norwich.

Bent is the usual goal machine, for the first time in an FM game I'm actually getting decent results from Ireland, playing him just behind Bent, in a 4-5-1 I usually hate.

Naff all transfer budget though, think I had £500k.

After 27 games, Liverpool in 19th.

I have Leamington in the Champions League. Trouble is I have no English players and still got an abysmal youth set up so no chance of producing my own players to fill quotas up.

Screenshots please. I'm still suspicious about your claims of winning the Champions League with Farsley Celtic.

Yeah, this this well overdue some updates. Will make my own entry soon.
Yeah I've started as Rangers in FM13 in order to do the journey back properly. Won Division 3 with 35 wins and 1 draw, annoyingly got knocked out of both cups by Celtic.

Must say I have found FM14 so much harder then previous ones. Have had some ok seasons but struggle to get teams to be much better than they are in real life. I never really play loads of seasons in one save so don't no if it gets easier or not.

I've actually not found that to be the case so far. In my first attempt at playing the game I managed to win the league with Arsenal in my first season.

I then started a new game with Inter, and finished second (just - after a really dire defeat at home to Chievo) in the Serie A with a squad of clapped out/young and unproven/crap players. Will see how things develop going forward.

Having said that, my results in both saves were hardly remarkable. The fact that I won the Premiership, and then came very close to winning the Serie A was largely down to my sides being competent for most of the season, and all the other teams screwing up badly (I think with Arsenal I managed to get about 77 points overall - which isn't really enough to win the Premiership these days). Perhaps the AI has been altered so that really good teams no longer can dominate quite so easily.

I got the handheld version for my iPad, is decent, really a lot like the CM/FM of an earlier era in terms of the simplicity but that's good as you can rattle through games.

About to start my 4th season with Fleetwood. Got them up to league one in the first season, was in with a chance of play-offs in the second year until injuries took hold so I told the board I would deliver a play of spot in return for extra funds. Given that I finished 3 points above the drop I am staggered that they didn't sack me, and I wound up getting a huge sell on clause for one of my previous players in the summer so maybe just maybe can have a better season this time. Board only expect midtable so no pressure.

Does anyone know what media pundits do?

I've just had a message about all my staff contracts that are up for renewal, and amongst them there's someone employed as a "media pundit" (who's a better coach than any of my actual coaches) whose contract cannot be renewed (board restrictions) and won't accept a job as any other position...

Is this a bug?

Also, has anyone else found it slightly unrealistic how easy it is to get a player to sack their agent?

A couple of times now I've had a player request a new contract, which I refuse, and then in a private chat tell them to sack their agent, which they invariably seem to agree to...

Works for me, but pretty sure it wouldn't be that easy irl.

Find is stupid that no clubs seem to want Valdes. Managed to get him on a free for Sociedad in January when he had been without a club for 6 months and the wage demands had eventually dropped.

Barcelona released Fabregas in mine, after not playing him for 2 seasons, more or less.

Have snapped him up on a free transfer for Inter, and am attempting to get them to play Tiki Taka style. Seems to be working now that all of the ultra-defensive Italian coaches from other sides seem to have been sacked. In October 2016 at the moment.

Team is:

Handanovic

Wallace
Ranocchia
Umtiti
Ben Davies

Taider
Fabregas/Hernanes
Kovacic

Ben Arfa
Ruben Garcia

Icardi

Not sure how long I will be able to keep Icardi and Kovacic. Have rebuffed £30m+ bids for both of them from City and PSG recently. Will probably sell Icardi if I get another offer like that. Have good young strikers coming through.

Do your utmost to keep Kovacic, gets ridiculously good as the game goes on. How much did Umtiti cost you? Have seen him go for huge fees a few season in.

I'm in the middle of a decent save, with Fleetwood Town. Managed back-to-back promotions in my first 2 seasons, getting them into the Championship. Finding that division a lot tougher though. Was battling with relegation for much of my 3rd season, but a good run at the tail-end of the season kept us up, and we managed a fairly solid 17th. Second season isn't going much better. Signed Guidetti up front, and he seems to be promising, but we've lost 3 on the spin, and sat in the relegation zone after 4 games. Am sure the persistence will pay off, would ideally like to build this season, have a good summer in the transfer market, and make a push for promotion in the 5th season. Enjoying it though, probably the most enjoyable save I've had on FM14 so far.
