That's irrelevant to the result. Take us in 2008 vs Barcelona. Got a 0-0 away from home, Scholes scores early at OT and we went through 1-0. Without Scholes' goal we would have faced extra time, penalties, and probably a roughly 50% chance of going out. Sure, if Barcelona had scored they'd have gone through so effectively you might as well consider it a half a goal lead, but that's better than no lead at all. Going 1-0 up clearly changes things and I'm amazed you're denying it.
Stop harshing my mellow man........

I'm not talking about the effect it has on the home team though. I'm talking about the away team. It rules out extra time and penalties but does not change the game situation at all for the away side unless you're literally at last kick of the game stuff.

So it does change the situation then?

Last post on this anyway as I'm sure everyone is bored of it.

That was amazing.

They may not be quite as fun but it is even more impressive than Dortmund last year, have not lost a single match the whole way through.

Fair enough as I didn't see the Barcelona game. The 2-2 with Real though struck me as entertaining more because of Real. I find Atletico when they play some of the lower sides in La Liga who aren't going to attack them and leave space at the back, tend to be quite dull to watch, and tend to nick a lot of dull 1-0 or 2-0 wins, which strikes me as being very Chelsea like. Maybe it's just the sample of games I've watched.
Real were kind of reactive in that game. Atletico just pressed them like mother****ers and Real scrapped a draw because they were gassed for the last fifteen. Although I guess Chelsea played a similar game vs. Arsenal, supports what you were saying about them not being as defensive as people are saying at the moment.

Atletico have a good chance in the final. Much better stylistic match-up for them than Dortmund were against Bayern.

Not sure about that tbh. Overall Dortmund have had the better of the head to heads between them and Bayern in the last few years.

**** Owen annoys me.

"Just shows you need to be good with your feet to be a goalkeeper these days"

It's been that way since the passback law changed, ****.

Is 6th position in the league going to make Europa and 7th miss out? I can definitely see United finishing above Spurs now..
