Fabregas' numbers in 09/10 were incredible and better anything he's done since IMO. He was 22 then. Now he's just there pissing off all the Barca fans because he's not Pedro.

You think you will end up safe Corrin?, reckon Shrewsbury and Stevenage are gone tbh, the romantic in me wants Crewe to stay up for some reason and they have decent fixtures to finish up, Notts County and Carlisle don't have the worst run ins either. Friday's fixtures loom as massive, they all have winnable games.

Would be happy if we get a point at Colchester this Friday. After that we have 3 of the last 4 games at home including 2 against teams that have nothing to play for so hopefully we should be ok.
I seesaw on it. If Lowe's injury keeps him out beyond last night's game we could be in trouble, same with Koumas. Beyond that I don't know what to think. We've been generally ****e this season but have always felt we'd pull away and yet here we are.

I'll wait until they stop playing him in nonsense roles and play him in the Xavi role.

Disagree, It was ridiculous but I don't think it was that much of a step up from what he did at Arsenal, if at all, and it was a whole lot less impressive when you consider the players around him and the added years of development.

He's been completely lost in the last few weeks/months.
Disagree with the first part. He's part of a tactical structure now rather than the completely free role he was given at Arsenal. He really struggled with that at first but he's now just as creative, if not more, than he was at Arsenal.

But yeah, the whole Barca team has struggled over 2014, really.

See, I think being the heartbeat of a side is a much tougher ask than being a part of it. At Barca if he has an off day there are plenty of others to pick up the flack. He's probably better at the specific things he's being asked to do now but as an allround player? Not a chance in hell, half of his game doesn't exist anymore.

Nah Fabregas has been a disappointment at Barcelona. He's been reasonably good but not the player he was at Arsenal. Not that it's his fault given they try and fit him into their system by giving him roles he isn't particularly well suited to.

I just don't think he's suited to them that well. One of the things he did best was his long balls and through balls but there just isn't the pace and space available for him to do that at Barca because it's all about short passes in tight pockets of space. It doesn't help that pace often has to be sacrificed to get him into the side.

His best games have always been when one of Xavi or Iniesta are not playing but you are not going to pick him over either of those. Playing all 3 in a big game has been a problem pretty much since he got there.

Barcelona should never have bought him really, they may see him as the heir to Xavi but they had that in Thiago and they ended up losing him.

Nothing against Arsenal of course but a real shame Everton lost today, would be nice to see them have a go at the Champions League, Arsenal just do the same thing every year once they get there anyway.

I've always thought of Fabregas as more like Ronaldinho than Xavi. Not that he's particularly like Ronaldinho either, but he's at his best when he plays in a role where he can really drive/surge forward in his own dynamic way for mine. Doubtless he can play the deeper-lying roles, but he's at his best, and is most fun to watch when he's driving forwards with the ball at his feet I think.

Without trying to sound arrogant I think Everton would really struggle initially. Got a lot of squad strengthening to do over summer if they can't retain their loan players and they'll be in pot four so will get a really tough group. I like Everton but I think the effects of Everton getting top four would be greater for Arsenal in a negative sense than Everton in a positive sense. Could lead to a United, City, Liverpool, Chelsea top four for years.

I remember asking this question last year but would it really bother Arsenal fans all the much not being in it for one season? Liverpool are certainly proof this year that is not the most important thing in the world, play a total reserve side in the Europa league and it may even do you some good.

For us to miss out after the start we had would be galling. May force our hand with regards to upheaval though.
