Kieswetter the same block or bash merchant he was. Hales game going backwards. Ali lacking the power for international t20 cricket.

Everybody can moan about Giles or Flower or Saker (and they are culpable to a degree) but it's the players on the field. A lot of them don't have the basic solid foundations needed for T20 cricket. And the rest are too knackered or spread too thin to make the telling contributions.

This winter more than anything has shown that outside the 11 or 12 guys who are good international cricketers there really isn't a lot of quality underneath. Unfortunately more than most because of their all year round schedule, the depth in English players gets tested more than say a NZ or SL who play less.

less test cricket but more odi's and T20's..

Jordan has done quite well so far. Buttler has shown virtually nothing despite being given plenty of chances. I wouldn't have had him in the squad, he plays some hideous shots in the last World Cup. Parry I haven't seen but considering he plays at what is often a dustbowl his record isn't anything spectacular - an economy rate of nearly 7. They just picked the wrong guy there and Buttler has been persisted with too long. Just because they pick people who turn out to be ****e it doesn't mean that anyone else in County Cricket is automatically going to be worse.

Unfortunately the selections lately have stunk. Stokes is the only one that you can put a tick next to, but then they didn't recognise his game hasn't made the step up to limited overs cricket yet. Not only have the selections been bad they've persisted with people who clearly didn't merit it and massively undermined County Cricket in the process.

Cupboard's pretty bare in limited overs stuff though, it has to be said.

PEWS doing a good job of explaining me. Was being histrionic tbh, the point was that we're a very difficult team to get behind at the moment considering the personnel - Ravi and Jordan the saving graces atm - if Dernbach gets back in the team that would probably tip me over the edge though.
