Gotta give credit to England, but I find it difficult to accept this when they bowled and fielded like minnows and yet they still won, .

That's the nature of T20 though Max, I agree with you and why I just can't take this form seriously as a genuine contest.

That said, it's cricket and there is nothing else on so I'll follow it.

Meh as if we haven't seen ODIs where both sides bowl and field like minnows too, and 330 is chased down.

No difference. England actually bowled quite well in the first 10 overs as well, just dropped catches which let SL have a platform to score runs. SL were only going at around 7 at the half-way mark.

I meant difficult to accept as a Sri Lankan fan btw, we were handed the game on a plate and we still couldn't grab it, I mean, I know this is the nature of this format, but I'm just really disappointed we didn't close this one out

I know cricketweb is all about tests, but the hate for T20s here is a little annoying.. One in 10 posts in CW shows some form of dislike/hate for the format, mainly in the T20 threads.

this has easily been the best ICC limited overs tournament in a long while and the last great one was also a T-20 the original one is SA back in 07.

After England won the T20 WC in The West Indies I said at the time I'd swap that tourny win to win the toss in the upcoming first Ashes test at the Gabba.

Look I accept that people are into this format, I'm not trying to convince you it's crap.......don't try and convince me it is a genuine contest.

I honestly don't think my posts was hating on the format, I can watch it and quite enjoy it. But to me it is just an entertainment bonanza and I can't honestly ever see me getting excited if my teams wins or sad if they lose.

I agree it would be poor form to be trashing the format in a thread dedicated to it, so if my post came over like that I apologise......it wasn't intended to be.

Gotta give credit to England, but I find it difficult to accept this when they bowled and fielded like minnows and yet they still won, the selectors really need to take a closer look at the pitch before they go ahead and pick Mendis all the time, he really has no answer when the ball doesn't turn, batsman can be nowhere near the pitch of the ball and still swing through the line easily.

i agree, he shouldnt have been an automatic pick and although he cant field as well, i think Herath will bowl his four overs for far less and maybe pick up a wicket too..Thisara is in awful form but i think that prassana hasnt proved any kind of consistency with the bat to replace him there..Again, not taking anything away form England, Chandimal messed up the bowling too, he should have bowled Mathews when RaviBop came in as he would have probably needed some time to settle and then he could have brought Malinga for the 20th- having said that, Hales played SO well that he would have possibly done the same anyway..well done to England and this is a good lesson for SL not to be complacent..

It wasn't intended in particular to you Adders, so its fine.

Well at least they have given us an explanation, but the same problem with cameras and slow-mos only confusing things further rather than giving us a clear picture remains, but it's also a good reminder that super-slow replays often show things that simple slow motion doesn't pick up

Rightly so, they're ****. Love T20 me,and the farce level makes it all the more fun. TBF to the players it is because of the constant pressure of the form.
