Ryan Harris had given a much better performance in England in the Ashes series. Was disheartening to see that no one talked much about him or gave an aging pacer(who was constantly battling with injuries) some credit for an exceptional performance, most people were interested in criticizing the Aussie team and discussing who is to be blamed for what. His overall performance in the series was one of the finest ever, I don't care if it was in a losing cause, it wasnt his fault that others around him were playing rubbish cricket. Sad that such a fabulous performance went unnoticed.
That is just wrong.

What a summer for Australia. Never saw this happening. Rhino, Johnson and Warner have been stars. Clarke's batting and captaincy stellar as well. Smith next best. Rhino my fave though. Classic that he took the last 2 wickets as the Saffers moved in on their 3rd great escape.

Apparently Harris had 30 mills of fluid drained from his knee after day 4.

Jesus Christ, what a man.

Yeah, I think it was pretty widely commented upon in CW circles that Harris was immense in the English leg of the Ashes.

Quite a series, this. Got to appreciate the ability of SA to fight so damn hard and not give in against seemingly insurmountable odds. The way even their most flamboyant players rein in their natural way of playing for the greater good is fantastic to behold. That was something which not even the great Australian sides of the 90s and 00s were able to do. It may not be particularly entertaining for some, but I find it really compelling and admirable.

It was good to hear Clarke speak so highly of Smith at the presentation, and give proper kudos to SA as a team as well.

It's a shame it wasn't a five test series, but I don't know how many of the bowlers from either side would have been left standing if there were still two tests to play.

yeah it's ridiculous. His injury situation sounded god-awful, and to push through like that and actually win the game for his team, he simply can't get enough plaudits...inspirational.

Was suffering insomnia so got up and watched the last hour. Was screaming (very quietly to not wake the family) at the screen at some **** to bowl a ball or two at the actual ****ing stumps.

Just knew if anyone would get their **** together and attack the pegs it would be Rhino. Dudes a ****ing monster. To have transformed himself from the modest medium pacer he was for so many years into top shelf on his dodgy knees is remarkable. If he was a seppo the movie rights would be going for millions.
We really do need a Ryan Harris movie. Just not the typical Australian-made thing utilising the same Home and Away stars as every other Australian film.

ABC miniseries, IMO.

I know i'm stating the obvious but this series is crying out for 2 more test matches.

Eff T20.
Would be epic. But Ryano's knee is crying out for a clean out, so it's ok to finish now.

Is stupid only having three tests though.

Oh and I went to bed with 9 overs left in the match thinking "we can still do this, but I won't be surprised to see RSA 8 down on the scorecard tomorrow morning".

Tasting that decision hard.

Just need to bulk Rhys Muldoon up and there's your man.

The logistics of a 5 Test series vs SA, (H) or (A), is close to impossible unfortunately, even if you disregard Ashes backloading, because of the Boxing Day Test issue.

Even more unfortunate is the fact these countries won't lock horns again in the Test arena until October 2016.

The series has been decided by a monumental test match. These teams slugged it out for 3 tests and all are completely broken now.

Can't think of a better end to be honest.

Is there any chance of David Warner being groomed for captaincy post-Clarke? I know it seems outlandish right now but I have a feeling he could be the natural successor to Clarke's aggressive style. There's something about the guy if you look past his more "rustic" sensibilities. He's obviously smart about his game, candid with the press; much like Sehwag in that sense though Sehwag didn't make a great captain for the little time he did it.

Reckon Smith's the man at the moment.
