Nah I'm just saying it's a matter of preference, some people like watching a master of flight slowly weave a web around the batsman, while others like watching a fast bowler go for the kill, you just look stupid when you rant on about how one is more exciting or worthy than the other

Clarke showing tremendous guts here but let's not pretend he's playing this well. In a technical sense, he's definitely playing badly to get hit so often. But as I said, incredible guts. Would so love it if he got through this, and smashed the spinners to get a ton

The difference between him and subcontinent numpties against the short ball is the lack of spine

Look. I grew up in the 70s and 80s when great players of spin who couldn't handle fast stuff were rightly derided for their lack of manliness

The physical threat element is what sets it apart. It's why there are masculinity issues with those who only play spin and can't play pace. Surely you understand that.

Also, if Clarke gets through this he will be so punch drink he won't know how many he is so will presumably keep concentrating instead of pissing away a start
