Considering Doolan's piss-poor 2nd dig was the huge momentum killer for oz in pe , i think smarsh has been screwed (but only a bit).

is it too late to get him back in the t20 squad?
as if the old school Darren Lehmann wouldn't go with the classic "Last man in, first man out" policy

will patto play?
I would take a punt and bring him in for Siddle

Patto would be a lock to be brought in for this Test if only he'd had some red ball overs under his belt

Just the injection we need at the moment

The boys look tired

He's not Machiavellian. He's as thick as whipped sh*t.
And there should be room in international sport for such a person

I just think it's a great story

Couldn't get a Shield game for the Blues a few years ago, and then he gets a taste of it in a T20 game...and has just taken his opportunity and run with it

Now he's a lock in all forms, a massive income earner, has bought his folks a house etc. And he backs up his undiplomatic comments with runs

As I say, it's just a great story

No one says he can't play. Course there's a place for it, but you're an idiot to give a side like SA ammo before a decider. Dumb stuff.

And don't forget his off field schtick cost him a couple of Ashes tests in England last winter. An hour or two of him in the first away Ashes test would have been bloody handy for us, and could well have put a different tone on the series.

He's becoming a serious player but I find it disappointing he keeps saying all the right things about learning lessons, then repeats the same mistakes. He must never captain Australia.

Warner thrives off it, even if his team mates don't. Credit to him that he can take as good as he gives.

I know this is not a thing you can say these days what with the interwebs and all (and hell, i'm not even on the anti-PC brigade, I love my political correctness), but people should just not take what he says seriously. The guy has an IQ lower than Derek Zoolander. It's almost discriminatory to fine him for talking.

Not sure it harmed them in the Ashes.

We all know Warner is dumb, it's a known fact, let's move on from it. At least he can back up his words, which is better than a lot of players who can't around the world.

@ARamseyCricket: Interesting. James Pattinson warming up with Aust team while Peter Siddle watches. Is there an early bowling change in the wind?

He hasn't backed them up too much lately at 0/0 on day one. He has at 0/0 with a first innings lead of 160-200. Hope he goes big first dig here though.

He's not going to change, as you said. **** can bat, that's for sure.

Mark Waugh saying Australia's batting in PE wasn't tough enough given there was rain about day five. Mark Waugh said this.
