Yeah cheers, not sure if I agree or not but its a persuasive argument.I think it is hard to not rate him at all. He's clearly a good bat...you don't get 10k runs without being very good. My issue is that is he is vastly (IMO obv) overrated. I really don't think he is that much better than blokes like Sehwag, Jayawardene, Younis Khan etc who all get labeled FTBs (especially the first two). In fact if you look at it Sehwag's away performances have actually been as good if not better than Sanga's (similar record in Pak, one good tour of Aus(Sehwag scored another hundred on his second tour though), mediocre in SA - Sehwag had a series there in which he averaged 50 though; etc etc etc.) and if you factor in Sehwag's SR it's really hard to split them. I'm not saying Sehwag is better than Sanga..but just that Sehwag gets labeled an FTB while Sangakkara is seen as Tendulkar, Lara and Ponting's equal (!!!) which he is nowhere close to being.
I take it SL don't tour as much as other sides but that is no excuse for his below par record outside the subcontinent. Blokes like Kohli are scoring 100s from the get go outside the SC...no reason why Sanga couldn't score more of them. I think no matter how one dices it, an average in the 30s in 4/7 countries is just unacceptable for a supposed ATG. One like Ponting is okay, 2 as in the case of Kallis and Dravid is okay...but 4?! And this is not a case like Lillee's either. And another pet peeve of mine is the "specialist batsman" stats that his fans bring up, which conveniently excludes his initial years and includes his peak. That is one of the reasons why I'm so glad AB is killing it with the bat even whilst keeping.
Long story short - very good bat, definitely not ATG.
Murali Kartik returned? :oNinth consecutive ODI win for Kartik. Wag.
Yes.To the commentary box.Murali Kartik returned? :o
Virat Kohli (c) is nice though.Just realised there's no Dhoni in Asia Cup. Sucks.
I agreeVirat Kohli (c***) is nice though.
Not sure if you're just trying to make a joke, but DWTA. If they played a ten game series then Pakistan would not win 10-0.Pakistan paying $1.10 against Afghanistan. The only justification for such a generous price is people thinking they'll throw the game.
And if they did beat them nine times out of ten then the odds would be neither unders nor overs.By the way that logic doesn't strictly work ftr.
The proposition should be, if Pakistan played Afghanistan in 10 games during the Asia Cup after losing the first match to Sri Lanka and therefore needing to win to stay alive, would they beat Afghanistan 9 times out of 10.
