Limited and defensive are two different things though, a batsman can be limited whilst being attacking (Pollard or Afridi, say). Besides, if you don't get to watch him much because he gets out too early then you probably don't know enough about him to call him a defensive player. He is far from a Gilchrist but he's not defensive either.

Anyone that knows my history with Benchy recognizes that if he says A, I say B

Doolan is his boi but I don't rate him because he chucks away starts at fc level and should not have played test cricket until proven otherwise

Furthermore, a nice cover drive/clip off legs does not constitute a well-rounded player and tells you why he gets out so often when those avenues are blocked off
