Don't get to watch him much because he gets out too early but he is very limited

Limited and defensive are two different things though, a batsman can be limited whilst being attacking (Pollard or Afridi, say). Besides, if you don't get to watch him much because he gets out too early then you probably don't know enough about him to call him a defensive player. He is far from a Gilchrist but he's not defensive either.

He actually has more shots than all but about 2 or 3 batsmen in Australian cricket. You're just proving you actually haven't watched him at all outside of the three international innings he's played.

That dropped way short so no dramas there, but de Villiers is a seriously poor keeper. Even the catches he took early in the first innings he ended up on the ground. Has no footwork, just really good hands and is quite athletic. He's like Matthew Wade if Wade had good hands.
