That half got a bit better as it went on. First 15 minutes were the sort of boring spell that can happen with Barcelona occasionally, them being unable to break down a defence and just passing sideways from left to right and back again for ages. Got a bit better once City came more into the game.
Don't think they were really trying to do anything with it tbh, people forget that Barcelona are the away side, sure they want to get the away goal but control of the game is their priority.

Outside the box,but what is Demichelis doing diving in.

On comes one of England's premier defenders to sure things up. And now Clichy's cover has been removed. This could get...interesting.

Tbf to Demichellis, it's worth the red for it being a free kick, which it clearly should have been

Also not his fault Messi was in on goal either. Kompany about five yards deeper than the rest of the City line and playing him onside, which hasn't got a mention.

Was a terrible piece of judgement to slide in at all imo. He had actually made up the ground on Messi quite well, and was basically level with him. Could have at least made an attempt to force him wide/put him off.

Yeah fair call, although that's sort of both their fault I'd say. Demichelis is so so bad though, crazy that Pellegrini keeps playing him. Kind of like Wenger with Almunia.

I thought there might have been some contact continuing onto the line. Tight call.

Almunia was actually good for a while before he turned to crap though and that 'while' was a lot more recently than years ago.
