I'll give you Wagner for now but Ishant has been crap for a long, long time. He's had the absolute best of the bowling conditions this series. Sure, he's put the ball in the right areas from time to time, but the man will never take wickets on anything other than a green seamer.

He's part of the problem.

There's other bowlers who might be better and probably can't do worse. They need to stop accepting mediocrity.

tbf it's most likely been because of our lack of significant tour victories. Can't sell DVDs of us getting clobbered by SA.

ishant is a case of "give a monkey a typewriter for a billion years". He's had so many chances that of course he's going to fluke good games occaisionally but his overall performance remains mediocre.

There's also something very telling about the fact that Shami - the veteran of 6 tests - is very much the leader of this Indian attack.

Just get the young blokes in there ffs.

Former NZ great swing bowlers like Doull and Willie Watson would have loved to bowl on a morning like this.

Hunty on Cricinfo with a great call. When I think of NZ's best swing bowlers, I ignore Hadlee, Southee etc. and go straight to the big guns like Watson.
