I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Fantastic effort. Hope they can continue the mindset tomorrow morning and not get out within 5 overs :(

Yeah today had both sides playing good cricket at the same time, which hasn't happened often.

Good news is khan won't be able to walk tomorrow, india will be down to 3 bowlers so if this partnership lasts out the first session we will be set to make 600

Wow, left for work this morning fairly accepting of an innings defeat. Ballsy stuff from Baz and BJ

edit: Ballsy probably a bit of an understatement, ****ing brilliant partnership this

India really need some good young fast bowlers if they want to be more consistent away from home, sure sharma's been good but he's hardly consistent.
Not sure how long kahn has left

Think Kohli will be the captain who takes India forward like Ganguly. Dhoni was justgiven a great side and he took them to #1 for a brief period. Hopefully Kohli spots talent as good as Ganguly did.

Mccullum and watling batted very well and were incredibly patient. Add the best batting conditions of the match so far and I think, for once you can't lay blame on India's bowlers or Dhonis captaincy for this fight back. Was just good cricket.

Actually I guess you can point out that mccullum was dropped twice, best fielding side in the world etc.

The Basin was almost Sol'd out today.

Sol'id effort from Baz and BJ.

India bowled quite well, if that's any conSolation.

You get the feeling that this Indian side is just starting to bubble a bit under the surface.

I still feel that this has been a bad series for them bowling wise simply because Ishant Sharma has taken wickets. This guy will seriously never do anything on non-seamers. While he's bowled in good areas, his pace has been low 130s maximum and he neither swings the ball like Zaheer nor gets the seam upright like Shami. He's been lucky in that he's had the best conditions he could possibly have asked for, but this really is a case of needing to look beyond the stats. The guy will get murdered again next series.

It would be very simple to replace Zaheer with Bhuvi and Ishant with Umesh. It needs to happen sooner rather than later. England would be a great place to build up the confidence of those young guys.

You gotta give it to Baz, playing probably his best two innings in successive matches. Would be awesome if he could kick on from this series and produce a couple of years being the player we always hoped he could be.

We are getting thrashed no matter what in England. You all assume England are weak after the ashes. They really aren't. MJ made them look that bad. Maybe KP's absence will help us draw a test instead of losing every test but thats about it. Make changes after we get whipped in England.

Btw, panicked a bit after seeing the scorecard before realizing it was just day 3 and not day 4.

that was a wonderful partnership to listen to on my way home to palmy

mccullum: officially no longer a downhill skier.

i know they're flirting with us and india will still win easily barring a horrific collapse after we somehow set them 200 odd, but this is a great effort from these two.

Had a fantastic day at the cricket. I have decided that KiWiNiNjA and I are Sol brothers.

However, despite the decent ending to the day, we still need to Sol-ve the problems with have with the openers. My Sol-ution? Someone with a record like this.

I think I spotted you Heef wearing an Ian O'Brien shirt.

I was sitting in the stands watching for the first two sessions next to the 7 member Swami Army. You heard right. It is just 7 guys. Their chants were terrible. Eventually people got sick of them and interrupted them by saying go the blackcaps etc.

After tea we wandered over to the bank and the best spot we could find was by Sonny Shaw. I decided to keep an open mind and sat down near him (6 feet away). He was atrocious. He has made a home made loud speaker and he uses it shout out comments to the players on the field. Most of the comments were one eyed mindless things. Strangely he knows a lot of people and peeps kept dropping in to say hello to him throughout the session.

In terms of cricket related comments - the best point I can make is that at the end of play on day 3 of a test match - the crowd rose and gave a standing ovation to the NZ batsman. I have never seen that before (just for the end of a day's play).

Only other comment I wish to share is that my mate rates Latham's technique after watching him and says he should be opening despite his performance in this game. I hesitantly agree. I thought he looked the goods apart from having an errant back foot defensive system which got him out twice.
I also thought he was more dialled in during the second inning and looked too sure of himself in the first dig and didn't apply himself enough.
