India, Australia, England attempt to take control of Cricket

There was noting to gain from voting against it, but voting against it makes the statement of intent official. Face it, all the talk of the principled stance was revealed for what it really was the moment they decided to cut their losses and abstain from the vote.

Besides, I'm certain the BCCI could have bought off the SLC, for instance, by promising to play them over 50 ODIs a year instead of the mere 30 they do now. I'm glad the BCCI had the guts to take a principled stand against the SLC and say "no more!". The SLC and PCB no longer get to indulge in the luxury of selling their votes to the highest bidder because that market has been destroyed and simply doesn't exist now. You should all be thankful to the big 3 for that, you ingrates.

Richard vs. TEC was the most ridiculous rivalry. Nothing has been seen like it since tbh. Puts social vs. benchmark to shame.

Iirc some of their arguments weren't about whether X was better than Y but rather what the reasons behind it were.

Stop with these distasteful analogies, here's what happened:

The SLC and PCB hoped to hold out for favours in exchange for votes, but were laughed at and told by the big 3 to go take a hike because their votes didn't matter. .
About the analogies I am only putting them right :p

Stop plucking stuff out of your ass. It is stinky enough already. When did this **** happen?:blink::blink:

What monsters!
Haha :p

All well and good but 19 pages of whether Giles was useful because he was a gun on turners or whether his biggest strength was holding up an end...

Richard's signature has a link a post by Pedro Delgado that parodies them rather well actually

Tongue was in cheek ftr, but they do need to find a halfway house so they can include the associates but stop it dragging on for longer than a Richard-tec multi quote war
4 groups of 4, top 2 qualify for knockout stages.

Gets shouted down because apparently broadcasters need to show 17 million games in the preliminary stages.

If you absolutely can't stomach the idea of straight knockout then go into 2 groups of 4 for the last 8 and steal the CT format from thereon.

Interesting that you think/know/whatever that my ass is stinky. Where have you been poking your nose, smiley?

There are no good boards and bad boards here. There are only financially strong self-interested cricket boards and financially weak self-interested cricket boards. This is not a war being waged on ideological conflicts

I honestly reckon four groups of four and then the winner of each group straight to the semis. Would never happen for obvious reasons, but it'd actually make all the group games pretty important.

I didn't like the concept but I'm pretty sure if you put something on the line, more people will tend to take notice.

I was poking something else but the smell was too strong

Whoever said anything about good and bad boards?

It reminds me of your opposition to DRS and supporting the BCCI's stance on it. I am getting that same feeling again.

The DRS system in it's current form with limited appeals entrusted to the players is a joke. I prefer an expanded system that transfers the burden of referrals away from the players themselves. That remains my stance, yes. If you prefer to reduce it to a simplistic black and white argument, so be it.
