Rory ahead of Abbott is pretty disappointing. Genuinely thought that'd pull that pin on that one with it now actually being pretty important.

dunno, Abbott's pretty similar to Philander, isn't he?

Kleinveldt's been pretty good since his horror debut, hasn't he?

I don't actually mind the Parnell selection when AB is keeping. If they go with 5 bowlers it could look something like this:

Smith
Petersen
Amla
Du Plessis
ABDV
Duminy
Parnell
Robbie P
Philander
Steyn
Morkel

I like that lineup tbh. Need for Duminy to come right though. Although they could easily just replace him with De Kock.

PHIL Hughes has been told not to play in Ricky Ponting's tribute game in Launceston tonight as he awaits word on whether he will join the Test squad for South Africa.

Near confirmation it will be Hughes replacing Marsh if the latter doesn't pull up then.

I don't think that Hughes would just slot in at number six like Marsh or Doolan could. I would be thinking either Watson moving to four and Hughes being at first drop or Hughes playing at four and Clarke moving up to the five position which IMO he's best at. If Doolan plays I suspect it will be at four or six.

Seems like they want to replace Kallis with Mclaren/parnell...

Parnell could get smashed.

Smith
alviro
amla
faf
ab
duminy
robbie
mclaren/parnell
steyn
morkel
philander

while a team of

smith
alviro
amla
ab
duminy
mclaren/parnell
tsolikele
robbie p
philander
steyn
morkel

would not surprise me unfortunately

Clarke confirmed, in the last 24 hours, that Watson will bat at first drop

Howard is a ****.

Lehmann saved his arse

Imagine if Howard was in charge...would never have let bowlers...wait for it...play 5 Tests in a row
um he just did. the bowlers not getting injured, not being under 25 and not bowling 50 overs a game are why they played 5 tests in a row.

Makes the whole Hughes thing even more confusing IMO.

It's not what we suspected - that they'd decided to give him some time away from the side to work on his technique and get his head right in domestic cricket in preparation for eventually replacing Rogers.. he was just a couple of places further down the queue than we thought. I reckon Lehmann is just straight up not a big fan.

Pronounced your first sentence as "Makes the whole PEWS thing even more confusing"
