Just saw Shehzad's dismissal. Good on him for making a century, always thought he was a talent, but he deserves to be taken out the back and flogged for that dismissal. Ok if you're playing that shot when your team leads by 100 with 3 wickets down, but with such a deficit it's just weak.

Hunger is the difference between international players and great international players. Once you're happy with the score you have you've failed.

You gotta love these pitches that give the bowlers no help but are also difficult to play shots on

What do Pakistan have to do to secure a draw - or non-result - tonight? I don't know much about cricket sadly.

Cheers.

Not possible. A draw is achieved when a team is trailing in the runs for the overall match but have not been dismissed twice at the end of the fifth day. This day is the fourth.

when Warne was bowling in to the rough it was great bowling. ugh!
Umm.. so do you actually disagree with what I said or are you bringing up someone else's opinion that has nothing to do with me? :p

the main thing is he picked up the wickets, filthy or not, it got the desired effect...
Ha, how many of them were actually his doing rather than the batsman getting themselves out? Probably only Sarfraz, although perhaps Younis too.

true but i suppose they all go in the book as his dont they..that could be applied to all wickets otherwise..

by bowling into that line he made the batsman take a risk, negative bowling, but effective. It would seem Sri Lanka are playing for the series rather than this match, an overseas victory would be huge for them tbf, I'm somewhat reminded of the third test of the last series between these two

It's negative bowling indeed but Herath has been a very aggressive spinner and wicket taking threat for the last two years with little back up from the bowlers. It's nice for his team to finally be in a position to close out an away series. Can hardly blame him for it.

While the determination of the SL batsmen is very impressive, one hopes they have the ability to alter their game plan in other conditions. I'm not usually an "intent" type of person, but they'll need to be able to actually score runs when the pitch is quicker. They won't be able to win tests overseas batting like this.

Well that's one of a number of scenarios in which it can happen

I was rooting for Sri Lanka before yesterday's effort. I honestly hope Junaid quickly rips through the tail and we have a good game on our hands. Playing for a draw for a series victory on the fourth morning when the match was no doubt still winnable is unacceptable IMO.

It would be their first away series win since 2000 or something like that iirc, so I can understand on this occasion why they are playing this way, but I hope this doesn't set a precedent for how they play whenever they are 1-0 up in a series

Absolutely agree that the series win is key and personally whilst it is a bit dull, would prefer that we play like this and win series than try to swashbuckle and get smashed...It is up to the opposition to bowl us out and win this match, and up to us to not let them..simple as that in my book...
