I'll bite - how does he remind you of Elton?
When he's not bowling well he falls away to the left a lot and ends up pushing it down leg; reminds me a lot of Elton in that sense. It's what makes him prone to completely missing his line at times - as in, not just bowling four balls but bowling random disgusting wides. Should be a lot better to left handers than right handers in theory.

Here's Elton sending one down leg at 9:58

Neesham stays more upright and gets momentum through the crease in general so he's a bit quicker and also a little less prone to that, but I just see Elton every time he bowls.

Well done to NZ!!..but you can't put out a reserve side and expect to compete out there on a regular basis...especially when you're away from home.

We got away with it in the ODI's because one or two players had big games and dragged the others up a level..but not today...only four of these players played in our world cup winning side

Narine was disappointing today...just one of those bad games he has every now and then...and in truth that's probably what allowed NZ to get to 189...If Narine was his usual self NZ get around 150...

Russell also was just pathetic...that's why he' been dropped from both the t20 and one day sides lately.

Also how they contrived to leave out Holder is beyond me...but that's the coach and the selectors for you

Just want this last t20 over now and then we can focus on our domestic comps and seeing what talent will emerge while also hopefully our main players will get some games under their belts... Today Jerome Taylor has been picked for Jamaica to play in next months one day competition so that should be interesting.

Interesting, will watch in a bit. Hopefully it's something he's aware of so he can make an extra effort not to fall away.

Beamer started a thread for that yesterday in Cricket Chat; I hope you'll contribute regularly throughout the season. It's been a while since we had a good West Indian domestic cricket thread on CW; back in the days of Camps and Roseboy really.

Yeah leaving Holder out is ITSTL. He certainly looked the best against in the ODI series.

Yeah I'll second this. And if you can point out anyone with consistent batting success to me in recent seasons and post it on my VM wall it would be greatly appreciated.

I could easily see how Holder wouldn't be a good t20 player. That said, when you're bowling to Guptill you may as well pick test match bowlers (which Holder should be)

When you're sticking with Tino Best after his recent form I really don't think you can be all that picky.

Holder has had decent success playing for the super kings in the IPL and champions league over the past 18 months...he's also done well for our t20 side too..so the decision to leave him out was just stupid imo.

Has this happened before in limited overs cricket? See the sequence of the bowler and catchers.

So he just wasn't picked? He's a guy the Windies should base their attack around in all three forms. Poor.

Broken record mode.....our selectors are worse than useless, etc etc.

Anyway, like others on here, I'm bored of referring to those that aren't playing so I'll focus on the match. I really enjoyed watching Milne bowl, pace like fiyah and he was reasonably accurate today too. He has a raw talent you can't teach so I would be tempted to replace Wagner with him in the test side regardless of domestic stats. I don't know what his fitness is like and that was obviously only a short spell, but if he can bowl above 145kph all day he is a special talent and something New Zealand (any many others tbf) haven't had for a long time.

Mcullum and Ronchi played good knocks and definitely produced the match winning partnership, They really took advantage of the short boundaries superbly and we weren't good enough to return the favour in our innings.

It was a bad day for most of our players, apart from Bravo who bowled superbly. I thought Andre Fletcher looked good at the crease and was pretty comfortable against Milne's extreme pace. Unfortunately it was a T20 game and he needed to get on with it and didn't, but I would have liked to have seen him given a go in the ODIs. His batting has been improving in the last 2 years and he has had some decent A tours.

No way anyone should be considered for tests on the back of T20 form. ODI form I understand.

I am really pleased that Milne put in that effort however. It potentially may allow us to remove Southee from the T20 attack (I realise he is good at T20 but it messes with your test match lines to bowl T20.) The other good news is that Milne's emergence has quietened talk of Boult playing limited overs.

Just like someone said they would like to see Ross removed from the T20 line up to wrap him in cotton wool for tests, would also like to protect and preserve our very fine opening bowlers (Boult and Southee). In addition if I were a batsman and had belted Tim Southee around in some T20 match I would be more confident against him in Tests.

It's out of the question to remove NZ players from any form of limited overs cricket.

England can do it if they like but their players are paid more than All Blacks. It's just not fair to expect these guys to forego an income source like that. Especially the guys like Boult who clearly are extremely hard working and already very skilled bowlers.

You just have to trust that they can adjust their games, and be careful with making sure that you force rests upon them every once in a while and manage their workloads.
