why the **** is Kallis batting so slow? Is the wicket really tough to bat on? Is he interested in SA winning or not?

It's the movement part I am worried about, he is quite fast but haven't seen him move the ball much. Hope you are right though. He can be properly menacing if he can get some swing at that pace.

True about the movement. But the yardstick being Ishant, he wins it easily (other than in Dhoni's punctured eyes obviously). His bouncers are a lot more effective than Ishant's and he is a far more threatening and effective bowler. Has a SR of 46, for god's sake!! So much more important than average and ER in India's case, because we need quick wickets. The spinners can handle the rest of it.

It wouldn't surprise me to see the South Africans start to bat more aggressively after lunch. It would be pretty cool if Kallis hit 3 6's to reach 100 for his career.
