Did you see that T20 innings in the first IPL(2008) when he played Warne with ridiculous ease when the others struggled? He did belong in the international stage. The selectors were just too ****ing stupid to see it and selected him just about when his purple patch came to an end as a FC batsman.

Yuvraj started off quite well and then lost his way, after that whenever he made comebacks, he was dropped after a couple of bad innings, wasn't given proper opportunities to actually see where he stands in test cricket.

Yep, totally agree with this. The deal was that India would be made to feel as comfortable as possible but that they should not perform well in the test series and threaten SA's ranking. In return SA guaranteed a semi final exit in the following WC thus making it easier for India to retain their title...India suddenly decided there was nothing in it for them then and started playing well in the test series
