No idea why Bell has stopped using his feet against Lyon. Very effective when he does it.
It's hard to come down the pitch to Lyon with the pace and revs he gets, he is still using the crease to play through the offside off the back foot though

Amazing how the Aussies turn up when they are wining......by this time 3 years ago there was probably 15k in and 10k of them were English!!

Did it earlier in the series though. Must be his state if mind given the score and being 3 nil down. 20 of 73 doesn't give that much credence to the Bell would be more positive at 3 club tbh.

Oh man Bell is missing out on so many run scoring opportunities here.

Botham now repeating the story Warne just told on air.

The crowd record was officially exceeded.

90,832 is the new mark.

(progressive new mark anyway)

I think their strategy is now indeed survival at all costs. But they gotta score some runs too.
Thing is even if we are 3 down, anything less than 250 on the board means that a collapse on day 2 leaves us well short. This is getting embarrassing.

Oh indeed, and I've been one of the longest critics of this strategy. But it is a strategy.

Sure. But run some quick singles to keep things moving ffs. You can't assume 4s as a release mechanism under pressure against good bowling.

Yes. If this is our Plan A then I honestly wouldn't mind seeing the end of Andy Flower. Has done some great things for English cricket, and have had a lot of success with him as coach but clearly the tactics and thought processes are stale and outdated. We are going to need to find quite a few new players over the next few years, I'd like them to be developed by a new coach who is more aggressive and plays in a more modern manner.

The all time record crowd deserved better entertainment than this.

2.3 an over for 2 and a half sessions - OMG.

You're preaching to the choir here.
No ****. If this was us batting I'd be going nuts. As it is I just don't understand it from these 2. From the others in the order with no ability it makes sense but this is their 2 stroke makers.

I guess some of this belongs to Carberry and Root. Create a hole so big you **** over the next 2 bats. Just thoughtless batting.
