What a performance, couldn't believe what was happening.

Come on Peter/Hamish - get us to stumps!

I support NZ and all... but I really wish the Windies had put up more of a fight. Was shaping up to be a classic if they could have set us 250. Of course, we did lose four quick wickets to Shillingford in Dunedin chasing a similar total, but I think we'll knock these off very easily.

Won't be a nice ten minutes for the openers now, mind...

Lords says we can still lose this

Apologies to WW et al, but I like Sammy. Beaten by a cracker that threatened to take his nose off and the bowler comes down aggressively... and he just smiles and laughs. Could almost hear him say "too good".

And then hits the next three balls for four...
He's been their best pace bowler and frankly one of their best batsmen on this tour. He's also been their best fielder and has rotated his bowlers well and set good fielders.

He had a horrible Indian tour but I don't think he should be dropped.

Would be amazed if they don't

Gibson, Sammy, Deonarine ,Samuels and Best can f*** right off. I've had enough. We are not very good, but we're not THIS bad. Something is very, very wrong in that dressing room.

It actually all relies on Taylor. If you look at the series stats for the WI the batting hasn't been great but they've all contributed evenly while for NZ it' mostly just Taylor and Baz's 100. Taylor has carried the team, really. Edit: actually they're pretty even; Taylor the main difference.

Of course he's the best seamer when the competition is Gabriel and Best. He cannot continue to play ahead of Rampaul, Roach, Holder or Cummins. You all might like him, but he has to go for us to improve.

Maybe they're just not good enough, but the likes of Brathwaite and Powell need to sit down and watch how Vijay batted last night against Steyn, Philander and Kallis. Sure he got out a bit unluckily when he should have been pushing on to a big score, but he left everything he had to and picked off the runs where he could. And Pujara and Kohli took advantage.

It would be nice if Rutherford and Fulton had watched it too...

Speaking of - Latham 200+, Flynn 188 - NZ openers under pressure.

Yeah, seriously Sammy probably isn't a test class cricketer, but there's no way he deserves to get dropped on the back of this series.

West Indies shoddy batting aside, this has been a terrific effort from New Zealand. It's not often we fight back from a vulnerable position to one of dominance, so it's great signs to see them do it here.

I would say that Roach and Rampaul are certainly the first choice seamers but have either Holder or Cummins even played a test? You can't just completely drop your whole pace attack at once.

Also, I'd like to point out that his bowling average is better than NZ's third seamer Neil Wagner.

would probably be looking at something like:
Brathwaite
Powell (on thin ice)
Bravo
A number 4 (Samuels must be dropped)
Chanderpaul
A number 6 (sorry PEWS, he must go)
Ramdin
Sammy
Rampaul
Narine
Roach

As captain it's indisputably over. His place in the 11 should also be under question, though I don;t mind him staying in the squad.

Oh for crying out loud. Give them the India series at least.
