Wow, I've only been watching for 10 mins and Williamson looked like he was going to be dismissed every delivery.

Agree with Craig Cumming about playing Narine. Play him like an off spinner and if it goes the other way, you'll very likely miss it. Had Williamson done that, I doubt he'd have been out LBW. Really poor if NZ hadn't discussed that approach prior to the test.
I don't mind Taylor missing those knuckle balls as it seems like he is playing for the off-spinner.

When batsmen try that in OD cricket he just starts bowling a middle and off line and picks up bowled/lbw dismissals. At the end of the day you have to pick him or find a way of playing him off the pitch or you'll get out.

While he might get out any second, I think some positivity from McCullum is definitely the right way to go. Taylor and KW became so becalmed the spinners were completely able to bowl wherever they liked.

It's more that McCullum has no defensive ability.

But if they can't pick him, which palpably our batsmen don't seem to be able to, it's still the best chance to survive IMO. If he does adopt a straighter approach, they just have to ensure they are covering their stumps - I'm not suggesting it's easy, so they need to play percentages. Also, remember, it won't be quite as easy for Narine to get quite as much rip if he's starting it on middle and leg as opposed to off-stump.

Less talk about the game, more talking about Taylor being the best IMO.
It's quite amazing how much better he's looked than Great White Hope Williamson, and any other batsman in the series really. It's been a long time coming for Taylor. By rights he should've been doing this 4+ years ago but he looks to have finally figured out the mental side of the game to the point where he's content with just batting. When he does that he can make any bowler in the world look village.

Having watched that day's cricket I have to say that West Indies are on top and well in control.

Taylor is the key, obviously.
