Ishant possibly the only bowler who the pessimist Indian fans would pick to do well, and the optimists otherwise.Did anyone else predict 10fer for Ishant? No?
^^Don't give up yet. This isn't a pitch where you just survive the first 20 overs and then pile on runs, a batting collapse could happen at any time.
Yeah, becoming to look that way. I've always been one to point out that being 35+ doesn't preclude you from being able to have a rough patch or be out of form - I think batsmen especially are sometimes dropped or pushed into retirement a little early because they dare to combine a standard bad patch with being over 35 and Haddin and Dravid are recent examples of how sticking with out out of form older players can pay off - but Kallis has never had a patch anywhere near this bad since establishing himself in Test cricket. He's averaging 16 this year and he's only averaged below 40 on one other occasion in the last 15 calender years (he averaged 32 in 2008). It's massive that it's been by so far his worst year. Definitely shouldn't be dropped yet but it's time to start asking questions.Age? Tends to go quickly when it goes.
I almost made a post saying it would happen. We've seen it quite a few times where a player gets dropped, comes back amid loads of hate on CW, but has actually managed to momentarily improve. Obviously the best example was less than a month ago in Australia.Did anyone else predict 10fer for Ishant? No?
Nah, orthodox swing. That ball that got smith reversed didn't it?
Well it definitely swung. It's always a bit hard to tell at this ground whether it's started reversing or if it's just still swinging conventional from time to time. That ball that got smith reversed didn't it?
