Given Vijay's encouraging propensity to leave the balls going away from him, Philander's the one I'm more scared to see him against.

Predicting his dismissal to be one where he shows his arms up to an incoming delivery that takes the off-stump bail out.

I'm predicting this too. But Vijay dud leave a decent in seamer from Philander in the previous over, so encouraging signs

Dhawan picking singles and putting Vijay in every over so far. Vijay as a result facing quite a lot of balls atm. Did see an article in cricinfo earlier showing that Dhawan does have a propensity on facing less number of balls compared to his batting partner.

And for the matter, why do Dhawan not face 1st ball of the 1st over? Often see Rohit or Vijay take that honors.

Edit: Watch Dhawan play out a maiden.

play that!

too much pressure releasers from SA here. They're firing one down leg most overs and some of their deliveries aren't making the openers play. India are batting very well though.

liking what I'm seeing from the openers so far. Philander's been a bit to straight and Steyn's been a bit too short after getting driven early on. Both have still produced some good deliveries but only 2-3 play-and-misses so far which is pretty good.
