Bit gutted I've not got to watch Stokes bat. I've big hopes for him; I quite like all-rounders, not sure if those who've known me a while have ever noticed before.
He seems to have more about him than the rest of the top 6. That may change if he spends too long with them and starts giving practice instead of at least trying to go on with it, viz KP and Bell.

Looking ahead, barring something miraculous over the next 24 hours, the rebuilding might as well start in Melbourne, as this lot will go down 5-0 either way.

My call would be Ballance for KP, Finn for Anderson and Rankin for Swann. Although Broad's injury might muddy the waters with that particular selection. And probably Bairstow for Prior, although I suppose we need to see what our keeper does in this innings.

Thanks for the memories to quite a few of this generation, but you're no longer up to it, so lets move on.

Not seen anything of today but well done Stokes, not many of us expected this from him.

How bad was the KP shot? Have not seen it yet

No reason to drop KP at all. Stokes has done very well, a ton here is he grits it out tomorrow. Only a matter of time, but it would be nice to keep them out there until after tea.

Well there is not no reason exactly.

Have not reached the giving up on him point yet but can't remember the last time he actually looked really good, has had a fair few injuries and is 33, maybe he is starting to reach the end.

Fair enough, got a text from a friend saying he had turned his tv off in disgust so was imagining the worst.
He'd played the same shot the previous over Lyon bowled and put it miles back. He'd looked good playing that way, it wasn't as if he manufactured a crazy shot out of nowhere. He just got beaten in flight.

Yeah, if the knee needs surgery then may as well get it done and see what he is like in the summer.
