*Official* Third Test at the WACA

There's a difference between "right in the game" and "yep, we're winning this".

England are in the game. England could still win this game. But they're probably not going to (cf. post Day 3 Adelaide and Day 3 Brisbane, where it was "not in, cannot win, definitely aren't going to" respectively)

The guy is clearly a troll. Suggesting Johnson bowled badly is proof that reading scorecards won't get you far.

He's gone from fearsome mongrel to the smiling clown and the English batsmen all look very comfortable playing him all of a sudden.
What am I reading here? Several wickets today, especially KP's can in effect be attributed to Johnsons's bowling. Bowled an amazing spell to KP and no one really played him with much confidence at all, especially when he pitched it up after softening them up with short stuff. It was still Ashes 2013 Johnson.
He'll probably bowl worse and run through the lineup in the second innings

Even then, he went for, what, two and a half an over? At Perth? If he was bowling to the left and the right et cetera, you'd have thought that it'd be somewhat higher...

The main difference between this Test and the first two is luck IMO.

Yes Australia lucked out on the Root dismissal, but there were a **** load of edges etc. that didn't reach a fielder.

Well, that and he hasn't yet bowled to the tail. Could easily pick up a sizeable haul bouncing out Broad et al

EDIT: Unless you're talking about England's batting as a whole - whilst that's true (I lost count of the number of streaky shots behind point) England did show a lot more application and fight today, mainly from Cook (and KP until he got out). Whether the lower order, who have not distinguished themselves with their fighting spirit with the bat thus far, can do the same is another matter...

Thread cliffs?

Disgraceful decision by the third umpire re: Root btw, just wasn't out, the mark on snicko was after the ball was past the bat.

Who's the third umpire?

Yeah it's Tony Hill. We've really drawn the short straws with Hill and Bowden in the same match...

Yeah I'm talking about England's batting as a whole. It is true Johnson hasn't had the same sort of luck he had in the other two Tests as well though, which obviously could change.
